摘要: Multiple components of an image produced by an image output device including a raster output scanner are registered by delaying an output high addressable bit stream for a time following each raster start of scan. A multiplicity of error values are added resulting in a total error integer component and a factional component. Following the start of scan, a line sync generator delays for a number of first clock signals proportional to the integer component. After the delay, the line sync generator signals a buffer to input a video input byte. A parallel to serial shift register converts the input video byte into a high addressable bit stream. A delay register further delays the bit stream by the fractional component, which further refines where, along the raster, the bit stream will commence. Suitably, the system corrects for the errors in run time as the fast scan line is scanned.

摘要: An image forming device comprises a plurality of unit modules arranged in a main scanning direction, each unit module having a light source that modulates according to image data and a deflection unit which deflects the light emitted from the light source to scan a surface to be scanned. Areas scanned with each unit module are joined together to record the image. The image data includes fixed pixel areas in number equal to the number of the unit modules and which have one scanning line in common with the adjacent fixed pixel area, and variable pixel areas that link up the fixed pixel areas. The image data is constructed by adding pixels of each unit module to the variable pixel areas at a record start side or a record stop side of the fixed pixel areas, and the variable pixel areas are commonly shared between two neighboring unit modules.

摘要: A system is provided for enabling a pulse width modulator to render video data for a laser at a frequency independent of the operating frequency of the pulse width modulator. The system includes phase measuring circuitry, edge output determining circuitry, edge location circuitry, and a summer. The phase measuring circuitry is operative to detect a phase offset on a scan line for a laser. The edge output determining circuitry is operative to determine which system clock cycle to output an edge on the system clock to act as if it were on a video clock. The edge location circuitry is operative to locate placement of an edge for a given pixel. The summer communicates with the phase measuring circuitry, the edge output determining circuitry, and the edge location circuitry. The summer is operative to combine values from the phase measuring circuitry, the edge output determining circuitry, and the edge location circuitry to generate a desired video signal. A method is also provided.

摘要: A method, system and computer-based product adjusts a synchronous operation of beams in scanning direction of a multiple beam optical system. Alternatively emitted, a standard beam and one of plural beams are scanned across an image forming body in respective scanning operations. During each scanning operation, a time interval (T1) is measured from when the standard beam is detected by a detector to when the other beam is detected. Similarly, another time interval (T2) is measured from between when the other beam is detected to when the standard beam is detected. Time intervals T1 and T2 are compared so as to distinguish the arrival order of beams and then the beams are adjusted at the source so as to compensate for a detected incorrect order or misalignment of the beams.
