摘要: It is disclosed an apparatus for restoring voluntary control of locomotion in a subject suffering from a neuromotor impairment comprising a multidirectional trunk support system and a device for epidural electrical stimulation. The robotic interface is capable of evaluating, enabling and training motor pattern generation and balance across a variety of natural walking behaviors in subjects with neuromotor impairments. Optionally, pharmacological cocktails can be administered to enhance rehabilitation results. It is also disclosed a method for the evaluation, enablement and training of a subject suffering from neuromotor impairments by combining robotically assisted evaluation tools with sophisticated neurobiomechanical and statistical analyzes. A method for the rehabilitation (by this term also comprising restoring voluntary control of locomotion) of a subject suffering from a neuromotor impairment in particular partial or total paralysis of limbs, is also disclosed.

摘要: Systems and methods of the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for treating cognitive dysfunction in a subject in need thereof. The system can include a neural stimulation system that receives an indication of an ambient audio signal detected by a microphone. The system selects, from a profile, an audio signal including a fixed parameter and a variable parameter. The system sets the variable parameter to a first value. The system generates an output signal based on the fixed parameter and the first value, and provides the output signal to the speaker. The system measures a physiological condition of the subject, adjusts the variable parameter to a second value, generates a second output signal based on the fixed parameter and the second value of the variable parameter, and provides the output signal to the speaker to cause the speaker to provide modified sound to the subject.

摘要: Provided are a cognitive function evaluation apparatus, a cognitive function evaluation method and system, and a program that can be implemented for non-handicapped persons and persons with severe motor impairment. The apparatus according to the present invention is an apparatus for evaluating cognitive function provided with a processing unit that analyzes and processes a brain wave caused by a plurality of stimulus events including a target and a non-target; estimates a stimulus event selected as the target from the plurality of stimulus events; determines a discrimination score or decoding accuracy; and evaluates cognitive function on the basis of a value of one or more of the discrimination score, the decoding accuracy, any of time courses, and decoding speed. With respect to two or more stimulus event groups having different levels of difficulty distinguishing between stimulus events, a discrimination score or decoding accuracy may be determined for each of the different difficulty levels, and cognitive function may be evaluated on the basis of a connection between one or more of the discrimination score, the decoding accuracy, any of time courses, and decoding speed and the difficulty levels.

摘要: Provided is a pain estimating device with which it is possible to estimate objectively and accurately pain being experienced by a subject. A pain estimating device 110 estimates the magnitude of pain being experienced by a subject, on the basis of brainwaves of the subject, and is provided with: a measurement unit 111 which acquires a plurality of items of brainwave data or analysis data thereof by measuring brainwaves from the subject a plurality of times; and an estimation unit 112 which estimates the relative magnitude of the pain being experienced when the brainwave measurements were conducted a plurality of times, from the plurality of items of brainwave data or the analysis data thereof (for example the amplitude), on the basis of the linearity of a relationship between the brainwave data or the analysis data thereof (for example the amplitude) and the pain. The present invention also provides a pain estimating method and device with which it is possible to estimate objectively and accurately pain being experienced by a subject, and to classify simply the quality and quantity thereof. The present invention also provides a method for generating a pain classification value for classifying pain being experienced by the subject, on the basis of brainwaves of the subject.

摘要: An evoked potential monitoring system including a control unit having stimulator circuitry and a probe assembly coupled to the control unit. The probe assembly includes a stimulus probe and a stimulator handpiece selectively coupled to the stimulus probe. The handpiece includes a handle, control circuitry, and a switch. The control circuitry is electrically coupled to the stimulator circuitry. The switch is electrically coupled to the control circuitry and extends to an exterior portion of the handle. In this regard, movement of the switch remotely controls the stimulator circuitry to continuously increment or decrement a stimulation energy level delivered to the stimulus probe over a series of discrete, incremental steps.

摘要: A method for analyzing electroencephalogram (EEG) signals is disclosed. Information associated with two or more options is presented to a user. EEG signals from a sensor coupled to the user are received contemporaneously to the user receiving information associated with the two or more options. The EEG signals are processed in real time to determine which one of the options was selected by the user. In response to determining which one of the options was selected by the user, an action from one or more possible actions associated with the information presented to the user is selected. An output associated with the selected action is then generated.

摘要: A system and method may be provided for associating bio-signal data (e.g. EEG brain scan data) from at least one user with at least one music data item (e.g. song, or piece of music). By associating bio-signal data, or emotions determined therefrom, with music, the system may establish a data store of music associated with emotions. That database may then be leveraged upon determining that a user is feeling a particular emotion through an EEG scan. When a particular emotion is detected in EEG data of a user, the system may then respond based at least partly on the same or similar emotion being associated with one or more music data items in the system. For example, the system may recommend a particular song associated with the same emotion presently being experienced by the user.
