    摘要: A solenoid operated actuator mechanism for positioning a shift fork in a double clutch arrangement for use in a transmission includes a pair of solenoid actuators operatively connected to a shaft that is fixed to the shift fork for positioning the shift fork in a neutral position when the solenoid actuators are de-energized and for positioning the shaft and shift fork selectively in a forward or reverse location if one or the other of the solenoids are energized. The invention includes a first embodiment where the shaft is fixed to the shift fork and to one end of a solenoid core element and wherein the forward and reverse solenoid assemblies are located on one side of the shaft; a second embodiment includes a shaft having end portions forming solenoid core elements.

    摘要: A gearbox having at least two parallel rotating shafts and at least two pairs of gears each pair comprising a gear on one of the shafts permanently in mesh with a freely rotating gear on the other shaft, the rotating gear on one of the shafts being connectable to the shaft by friction gear clutch packs loadable by a ball ramp mechanism having a control ring rotatably supported on a shaft and a pressure ring nonrotatably supported on the same shaft where a coil is used to electromagnetically connect the control ring to the rotating gear which causes the ball ramp mechanism to axially expand onto the gear clutch pack. The ball ramp mechanism is actuated when there is relative rotation between the control ring and the pressure ring as rolling members travel in opposed variable depth grooves formed in the opposed faces of the control ring and the pressure ring.

The operating winding of the clutch or brake is energized to cause the gap between an armature and rotor to close, energization of the winding is then reduced to initially reduce the torque coupling between the armature and rotor and finally energization of the winding is gradually increased to full energization so as to provide a gradually increasing torque coupling between the armature and rotor.

    摘要: An electromagnetic device includes an electromagnet having one electrical coil and an annular member of high permeability having a pair of radially spaced first and second circumferential magnetic resistance portions. The first and second armatures are disposed in opposed relation to the first and second magnetic resistance portions, respectively. At least one of the first and second magnetic resistance portions is interrupted by circumferentially spaced magnetic bridge portions having such a size as to allow a predetermined amount of magnetic flux to pass therethrough to attract the one of the first and second armatures, disposed in opposed relation to the other of the first and second magnetic resistance portions, into contact with the annular member when excitation current of lower magnitude is applied to the coil. When excitation current of higher magnitude is applied to the coil, the magnetic flux passes through the first and second armatures, thereby attracting them into contact with the annular member.

The compressor may be incorporated as a refrigerant compressor in an air conditioning system for, for example, automotive use.

The invention does not require normal and reverse rotations of the drive source itself and does not require a bulky and complicated mechanism such as an electromagnetic clutch.

    摘要: A wrap-down spring clutch includes a drum and a spring which are selectively engaged by a solenoid. The solenoid has a coil, which when energized, extends a ferromagnetic plunger. When the coil is energized the plunger is extended out against the spring and urges the same into frictional engagement with the drum. The drum is also ferromagnetic, such that the activation of the coil simultaneously magnetizes the plunger, and creates a magnetic attraction between the plunger and the drum which further urges the plunger against the spring and the drum to produce a wrap-down pressure which effects quick and secure clutch engagement.
