Abstract: Various technologies for monitoring operation of an air contaminant mitigation system, such as a vapor intrusion and/or radon gas mitigation system, are disclosed. For example, in one embodiment, a monitoring system includes an air contaminant mitigation system to exhaust vapors from a contaminated area to a designated area and a sensor module coupled to the air contaminant mitigation system to generate sensor signals indicative of a sensor condition of the air contaminant mitigation system. The system may also include a sensor controller to receive the sensor signals from the sensor module and generate sensor data indicative of the sensor signals. Additionally, the system may include a data server to receive the sensor data from the sensor controller, store the sensor data in a local database, and transmit information based on the sensor data to a remote computing device.

The flap of the at least one flap arrangement has at least in an open position a flap contour which in regions adjacent to a pivot axis is adapted to a cross-sectional contour of the interior in the respective region adjacent to the pivot axis.

Abstract: An illumination device and a ventilator include: a fan electrically connecting to a power transmitting port to be rotated for generating an airflow; a light-emitting device for transferring electrical power into illumination; a power storage module electrically connecting with the light-emitting device and the power transmitting port; and a control unit electrically connecting with the power storage module and the power transmitting port. The control unit determines whether the power transmitting port provides electrical power, the control unit controls the power storage module to store electrical power sourced from the power transmitting port when a result of the determination is positive, and the control unit controls the power storage module to output electrical power stored therein to the light-emitting device when the result of the determination is negative.

Abstract: A system and method for selecting a proper fan for an air flow system for mitigating radon in a building. An air flow system includes a pipe connected to an access hole extending through the center of a slab and into the underlying soil. A test hole also extends through the slab. A variable speed test fan is installed in the pipe, and a manometer is installed to measure a static pressure value of the overall system. A chart or a computer program is configured to correlate a particular speed of the test fan and a particular static pressure value when the test fan creates an initial draw at the test hole with an identification of a proper fan. The proper fan has an operating speed which is closest to the particular speed. The proper fan is then installed in place of the test fan in the air flow system.

A method for conditioning an interior space using at least one or more such ventilation systems is further described.
