Abstract: A water consumption meter for animals allowing a precise measurement of fluids entering an attached water vessel. The materials and design of the meter allow the meter to endure freezing events and function properly after such freezing events. The meter has internal vanes set at a particular angle that contribute to a more accurate measurement of the liquid being consumed by the animal. The water consumption meter can include a rotational member with angled vanes that assist in a more accurate measurement of the water entering and exiting the meter.

Abstract: Provided is a flow rate adjusting device including: an ultrasonic flow metering portion; a flow rate adjusting portion; a control portion configured to control the flow rate adjusting portion so that the flow rate of the fluid measured by the ultrasonic flow metering portion matches a set value; a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure of the fluid flowing into an upstream side of a measurement flow channel from an inflow port; and a storage portion configured to store information that associates the flow rate of the fluid obtained from the propagation time difference measured by the ultrasonic flow metering portion, the set value of the target flow rate, and the pressure measured by the pressure sensor with each other when the control portion controls the flow rate adjusting portion.

Abstract: A method for analyzing flow of a fluid through a flowmeter is provided. In an embodiment, the method includes receiving multiphase flowmeter data representative of a characteristic of a multiphase fluid flowing through a multiphase flowmeter and segmenting the multiphase flowmeter data into time blocks. The data in the time blocks can be analyzed using time-domain analysis or frequency-domain analysis to determine flow stability. The time-domain analysis can include analyzing time blocks in a time domain to determine whether measurement distribution in the multiphase flowmeter data of the analyzed time blocks represents stable flow of the multiphase fluid. The frequency-domain analysis can include converting the multiphase flowmeter data of the time blocks from a time domain to a frequency domain and identifying time blocks in which contribution of low-frequency components in the frequency domain is below a contribution threshold. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A liquid product distribution network includes a keg distribution monitoring and reporting apparatus for operation in association with a tap handle flow monitoring and reporting apparatus. The keg distribution monitoring and reporting apparatus includes a radio transmitter device and sensing circuitry for sensing and communicating physical properties associating with the keg. A tap handle flow monitoring and reporting apparatus senses flow of a liquid through a tap includes a tap handle radio transmitter device for fitting within and protected by a tap handle and a low-energy consumption tap handle radio/processing module. A mobile communications device with geographic position sensing device and/or said tap handle flow monitoring and reporting apparatus passively and without user interaction within the keg distribution network, without using network uplink/gateway circuit devices for sensing and reporting fluid storage, flow, and financial operations relating to the distribution of said liquid product throughout the liquid product distribution network.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a fluid and determining a leak comprising the steps of providing a meter and a meter register coacting with the meter. When a leak is detected, a signal is transmitted from the meter register regarding fluid consumption. The transmitted signal indicates a leak either when the measured flow rate remains a fixed volume over a fixed period of time, or the measured flow rate exceeds a threshold value.
