摘要: A digital data processor controls an output printer, e.g. a typewriter, having selectively settable tabulation stops. These stops are set in accordance with instructions contained in the processor program preferably as a subprogram written in from a card. A plurality of such cards can be used to set up readily any desired tabulation format. The transmission of characters to the printer is controlled by a tag bit identifying the character to be printed. The invention further concerns means controlling the initial insertion of the tag bit, the shift of the tag bit from character to character and use of the tag bit to control carriage return and resumption of printing when the number of characters in a register exceeds the length of the printing line.

摘要: The present invention relates to a system and method to facilitate efficient and automated presentation of information to users. A decomposition component automatically decomposes an information item into sets of subcomponents in a two- or three-dimensional isometric space, and generates visualizations having interactive graphics that allow users to inspect respective subcomponents. Interface features are provided to enable hover, dwell, and clicking commands, for example, providing a variety of options to zoom in, or change configurations of the visualization in accordance with the users intentions or inferences about what they desire to see or inspect more closely. Beyond the use of decompositions into exploded views of the content of items typically viewed as singular documents, the methods can be applied to perform geometric transformations on visualizations of multiple windows and other resources based on content and activity to provide regularized visualizations of the multiple items. Such exploded views can provide visual geometric summaries of projects, and a set of handles into accessing more detail on the subcomponents of the project.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for driving a printer are provided. Data indicative of cash information to be printed on a cash voucher is received at a first driver from a local controller. Data indicative of non-cash information to be printed on a coupon is received at a second driver from a media controller. Printer commands are then generated by a processor in a standard format for the printer in response to data received from the first and second drivers. The data indicative of non-cash information may be stored in and obtained from media storage associated with the media controller. The media controller may forward the data indicative of non-cash information to the second driver in response to a signal received from the local controller. Alternatively, the media controller may forward the data indicative of non-cash information to the second driver in response to a signal received from a central system controller.

摘要: A print engine for a pagewidth inkjet printer includes a chassis. A pair of opposed printhead assemblies are mounted on the chassis to carry out a double-sided printing operation on a sheet of media interposed between the printhead assemblies. A pair of opposed feed rollers are mounted on the chassis and positioned upstream of the printhead assemblies to feed media between the printhead assemblies. Each printhead assembly includes at least one elongate ink distribution structure. A printhead chip is mounted on a free end of the, or each, ink distribution structure such that printhead chips on opposite ink distribution structures are aligned. The ink distribution structures are shaped so that a distance from at least one pair of aligned printhead chips to a point of contact between the rollers is less than a radius of the rollers.

摘要: A printer prints a black mark BM having a left mark edge BMa and a right mark edge BMb on a paper P. An encoder offset SH_L_EDG for the left mark edge BMa is set based on the difference between the carriage position (encoder value PR_ENC_L) that is detected when the print head 10 prints the left mark edge BMa and the carriage position (encoder value SEN_ENC_L) that is detected when the media sensor 68 detects the left mark edge BMa. Similarly, an encoder offset SH_R_EDG for the right mark edge BMb is set based on the difference between the carriage position (encoder value PR_ENC_R) that is detected when the print head 10 prints the right mark edge BMb and the carriage position (encoder value SEN_ENC_R) that is detected when the media sensor 68 detects the right mark edge BMb. In this way, the printer can suppress the effects of mounting error and can prevent a decline in accuracy when detecting edges of the paper P.

摘要: The invention provides high-speed and high-quality printing when the vertical and horizontal resolutions of print data to be printed differ from the vertical and horizontal resolutions which a printer can process. A table is provided, in which the relationship of position in each printing pass of each of a plurality of pins aligned in the vertical direction of a printing head to a plurality of raster lines in a predetermined range to be printed is examined, whereby the pins aligned in the vertical line to be actuated in each printing pass are determined based on the relationship of a position between each of the pins and each of the raster lines. The table serves as a raster-line/pin-relationship table. A printer driver receives print data from a print-data forming unit, consults the raster-line/pin-relationship table, and actuates the pins for each printing pass according to the raster-line/pin-relationship table.
