Abstract: The present invention reduces the effort involved in an operation for cancelling a current cutoff device while inhibiting a capacity decline during parking. Provided is a battery device 20 that is to be mounted on a vehicle, and that is provided with: an assembled battery 30 that supplies electric power to loads 10 including an engine starting device 10A; a current cutoff device 45 that cuts off an electric current to the loads 10 from the assembled battery 30; and a control unit 70, wherein upon detecting a parked state of the vehicle, the control unit 70 operates the current breaker device 45 so as to execute a current cutoff process for cutting off the current flowing from the assembled battery 30 to the loads 10, and following the execution of the current cutoff process, if a prior action to be performed on the vehicle by a user before starting driving is detected, the control unit 70 cancels the cutoff of current by cancelling the operation of the current breaker device 45.

Abstract: The present invention addresses the problem of diagnosing a failure of a discharge resistor, while suppressing deterioration of discharge capacity. Disclosed is a failure diagnostic device for a discharge circuit 60 for discharging electricity from an electricity storage element 31. The discharge circuit 60 includes a resistance circuit 61 comprising a plurality of resistor blocks B connected in parallel, and each of the resistor blocks B comprises a plurality of discharge resistors Ra, Rb connected in series. During the time when electricity is being discharged from the electricity storage element 31, the failure diagnostic device diagnosis a failure of the resistance circuit 61 on the basis of a voltage or a current at a connection point P between the discharge resistors Ra, Rb.

Abstract: An energy storage device and the energy storage module include: an outer case on which an external terminal is mounted; an electrode assembly housed in the outer case; a conductive shaft portion having one end thereof connected to the external terminal; and a conductive plate portion housed in the outer case, to which the other end of the conductive shaft portion is connected, and the electrode assembly is connected. A recessed portion is formed on a first surface of the external terminal on which a bus bar is placed, and a second surface of the external terminal opposedly faces the outer case. One end of the conductive shaft portion is brought into pressure contact with the external terminal in the inside of the recessed portion. The recessed portion formed on the external terminal is gas-tightly covered by the bus bar.

Abstract: An energy storage apparatus includes an outer case, and an energy storage device housed in an inside of the outer case. The outer case includes a ventilation chamber which makes the inside and an outside of the outer case communicate with each other. The ventilation chamber includes a front wall in which a through hole communicating with the outside is formed, a back wall disposed at a position where the back wall opposedly faces the front wall, a first wall disposed between the through hole and the back wall, and a first side wall disposed in an extending manner along a first direction which intersects with the front wall with a gap formed between the first side wall and the first wall. The gap is formed over a distance from the front wall to the back wall along the first direction.

Abstract: An aspect of the present invention is an electrode which includes an active material layer, and an insulating layer layered on a surface of the active material layer, in which the insulating layer contains a filler and a first binder, and a content of the first binder in the insulating layer is 8% by mass or more. Another aspect of the present invention is an electrode which includes an active material layer, and an insulating layer layered on a surface of the active material layer, in which the insulating layer is a dry coating product containing a filler and a binder. Still another aspect of the present invention is a method for manufacturing an electrode, which includes the steps of forming an active material layer, and laminating an insulator containing a filler and a binder on a surface of the active material layer to form an insulating layer, in which the insulator does not contain a solvent.
