Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, signaling indicating an assignment of resources in a physical time domain to a set of contiguous symbols in a virtual domain. Each symbol of the set of contiguous symbols may be associated with a respective orthogonal frequency-division multiplexed (OFDM) symbol of a respective one of multiple sets of one or more contiguous OFDM symbols in the physical time domain. Each set of OFDM symbols may be associated with a slot in the physical time domain. The method also includes mapping the physical time domain resources to the multiple sets of OFDM symbols based on the assignment of the physical time domain resources to the set of contiguous symbols. The method further includes receiving or transmitting the multiple sets of OFDM symbols on the physical time domain resources based on the mapping.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may implement a power-efficient discovery procedure to establish a relay. In some cases, the UE may monitor a resource pool for a relay beacon from a relay device and measure a received power of the relay beacon. If the received power satisfies a threshold, the UE may monitor for a relay announcement from the relay device and establish a sidelink connection with the relay device based on the relay announcement. The relay beacon may support a two-stage discovery procedure, where the UE determines a relay device is available before processing a relay announcement to conserve power. Additional techniques for proximity-based discovery are described herein.

Abstract: Some techniques and apparatuses described herein enable transmission of an uplink control channel in a cross-carrier fashion, where determination of a slot for the transmission is performed based at least in part on a reference component carrier (CC), of a plurality of CCs. For example, the reference CC may be indicated by scheduling information associated with a downlink channel, or may be determined by the UE (e.g., based at least in part on an order associated with the plurality of CCs and availability of a slot for an uplink control channel on the plurality of CCs). In this way, ambiguity with regard to determination of the slot for transmission of the uplink control channel is reduced, thereby providing improved control channel performance, improved resource utilization, and more robust implementation of cross-carrier uplink feedback.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to interference mitigation for communication with muting via inter-cell coordination. In one example, a network entity such as a cell may identify a time or frequency resource allocated for communication with a user equipment (UE), and transmit, to a neighboring network entity, a muting message indicating that the time or frequency resource is occupied for communication. In another example, the network entity may receive, from a neighboring network entity, a muting message indicating that a time or frequency resource is occupied for communication. The network entity may further forgo scheduling of an uplink or downlink transmission to a UE on the indicated time or frequency resource. The network entity may further schedule data for uplink or downlink transmission with the UE on a different time or frequency resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The base station may transmit one or more transmissions to a first user equipment (UE) and a second UE, and the one or more transmissions may include a first grant for the first UE and a second grant for the second UE. The first grant may assign a first uplink resource for a source data transmission and a first downlink resource for feedback by the base station associated with the source data transmission. The second grant may assign a second uplink resource for a relay data transmission and a second downlink resource for feedback by the base station associated with the relay data transmission. The first UE and the relay UE may communicate with the other of the first UE and the second UE or the base station, or both, based on the first and second grant.
