Abstract:
A lock and key system is configured to sense an operational signature generated by an object placed into a keyway in the system. The system is further configured to compare the operational signature with a reference signature, and to generate an alarm when the operational signature differs from the reference signature by a threshold.
Abstract:
There is provided a system for transmission of power and/or information between a first location external of a living body and a second position internal of the living body which comprises: (a) a primary controller (2) comprising a power source and a transmitter locatable at the first locations; and (b) an antenna (12) based device (10) locatable at the second position to receive an output from the transmitter, wherein the power source is adapted to emit high frequency electromagnetic radiation between 0.5 to 5 GHz. A medical appliance comprising a spring-based stent incorporating a monitoring device wherein the spring of the stent acts as the aerial for the monitoring device and wherein the medical appliance is capable of receiving electromagnetic radiation with a frequency between 0.5 to 5 GHz.
Abstract:
This invention relates to synthetic granite tiles made essentially from garnite sand and a process for the production of synthetic garnite tiles essentially from garnet sand which is a by-product of beach sand from rare earths extraction, said process comprising mixing beach sand garnet, feldspar and clay thoroughly; pressing the mixture using a press at a pressure in the range of 40-80 MPa to form tiles of desired shapes and sizes; drying the tiles so formed at a temperature of 100.degree.-120.degree. C.; firing the dried tiles at a temperature in the range of 1050.degree.-1250.degree. C. with a soaking for a period ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and polishing the resultant tiles.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a disinfection arrangement (100) for disinfecting a chamber (132). The disinfection arrangement (100) includes an oxygen generation chamber (109) containing a mist generator (110) and a UV-C light source (118) positioned at an outlet of the oxygen generation chamber (109). The oxygen generation chamber (109) is configured to receive hydrogen-peroxide (H2O2) such that the received (H2O2) is exposed to the UV-C light source (118) at the outlet of the oxygen generation chamber (109) to convert the H2O2 into ozone for supplying the ozone to the chamber (132).
Abstract:
Devices and techniques for hardware accelerated packet processing are described herein. A device can communicate with one or more hardware switches. The device can detect characteristics of a plurality of packet streams. The device may distribute the plurality of packet streams between the one or more hardware switches and software data plane components based on the detected characteristics of the plurality of packet streams, such that at least one packet stream is designated to be processed by the one or more hardware switches. Other embodiments are also described.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to perform measurements are disclosed. An example method disclosed herein for a user equipment (UE) to perform measurements in a mobile communication network comprises receiving configuration information comprising at least one of a validity state, a measurement activation criterion, a measurement deactivation criterion, a reporting criterion or a location request criterion to configure a measurement, and performing the measurement based on the configuration information.
Abstract:
A method, computer program and system for controlling accesses to memory by threads created by a process executing on a multiprocessor computer. A page table structure is allocated for each new thread and copied from the existing threads. The page access is controlled by a present bit and a writable bit. Upon a page fault the access is provided to one thread. The kernel handles the new page entry creation process and set the page present bits to zero which creates page faults. In a second embodiment, two page table structures are created, one for one thread having access to the address space and the other page table structure shared by all the other threads not having access to the address space.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of systems and methods for managing a plurality of nodes in a distributed computing environment are described herein. Initially a request to process a to-be-processed request is received. Next one or more nodes from a plurality of nodes, included in a cluster, is identified to process the to-be-processed request. Next the to-be-processed request is divided into a plurality of sub-requests. Next the plurality of sub-requests are assigned to the identified one or more nodes and the generated additional node. A node failure of one of the one or more identified nodes is identified. Finally, one or more of the plurality of sub-requests assigned to the failed node is re-assigned to another node of the plurality of nodes.
Abstract:
A system and method for aircraft performance predictions for climb flight phase is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of aircraft performance predictions for climb flight phase in a flight management system (FMS) includes determining current predicted aircraft state using a total energy of the aircraft. Further, excess energy available in an engine of the aircraft is computed. Furthermore, a change of speed of the aircraft is computed at a given point in the climb flight phase. Kinetic energy (KE) change required is then computed for the computed speed change. Remaining energy available is then computed based on the computed KE change. The aircraft performance predictions for the climb flight phase are then computed using the determined current predicted aircraft state.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to monitor a channel to determine neighbor cell information are disclosed. An example method for a first mobile station to determine cell information for a first cell disclosed herein comprises monitoring a channel for messages containing cell information, receiving a first message via the monitored channel and addressed to a second mobile station, the first message including first cell information, and storing the first cell information for a time period after receiving the first message.
