Abstract:
A motor vehicle has an engine equipped with an oil sump which is secured in a body-sound-insulated manner to the engine block, and a fan-cooled water radiator, a frame-mounted elastic membrane being provided between the oil sump and the vehicle body components so that the membrane completely encircles the oil sump at its upper edge and provides an acoustic separation between the spaces respectively situated above and below the oil sump, the upper space comprising a sound suppressing encapsulation which is closed relative to the vehicle interior by appropriate wall panels, partitions and sealing sections provided in the vehicle body. The outflow of hot cooling air from the radiator completely by-passes the encapsulation, the sealed upper space of the encapsulation being cooled by the forced draught of a further fan, and sound absorbing silencers being provided at inlet and outlet openings for the cooling air in the encapsulation.
Abstract:
An apparatus for handling a multiplicity of like bodies such as pills or tablets has a drum rotatable in a housing about a horizontal axis and formed with a multiplicity of throughgoing holes constituting body-receiving pockets. A pair of axially spaced end walls axially close the drum and a pair of inner and outer shields insure that except for an inner input location and an outer retrieval location bodies in the apertures of the drum will not fall out as the drum rotates. A pair of transparent end walls are rigidly mounted together by way of axially extending bolts and carry feed plates, a separating comb, and a separating disc. These end plates and the elements carried on them are slidable axially into and out of the drum. The separating comb is formed of a plurality of axially spaced and parallel elements that define slits that are aligned with the rows of apertures in the drum and between which fit elastomeric discs carried on the separating roller. One end of the comb can be hooked over an axially extending tierod or bolt and the other end can be releasably secured to the end plates also so that this comb can readily be removed from the apparatus and replaced with another comb of different dimensions.
Abstract:
The invention concerns lancets with a lancet needle, the tip of the lancet needle being embedded in an elastic material. Furthermore the invention concerns lancets where the tip of the lancet needle is surrounded by a hollow body which partially consists of an elastic material that can be pierced by the tip of the lancet needle during the lancing process and which reseals the tip of the lancet needle in the hollow body when it is retracted. In addition the invention concerns a lancet magazine in which the lancets are accommodated in individual chambers, each chamber having an opening through which the tip of the lancet needle can pass, which is sealed by an elastic material. Finally the invention concerns the use of an elastic material as a component of a lancet or a lancet magazine to maintain the sterility of at least the tip of a lancet needle in the unused state and to hygienically protect at least the tip of a lancet needle in the used state.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lancet, which has a lancet tip at a front end and which on an upper face comprises a contact surface for placing a test element thereon and at least one channel for receiving a sample, wherein an upwardly open section of the channel runs in the contact surface. According to the invention, the channel has another upwardly open channel section which runs on the upper face of the lancet in or adjacent to a surface area that is lower than the contact surface, wherein the contact surface is arranged between the lancet tip and the lower surface area. The invention further relates to a system comprising such a lancet and a test element, and to a method for transferring a liquid sample from a channel of a lancet which is designed as a groove or slot to a test element.
Abstract:
A disposable device for analyzing body fluid especially for blood sugar tests includes a container which can be inserted into a measuring apparatus, a sampling member provided in the container to pierce skin of a body part and sample body fluid, and a test member for receiving body fluid obtained by the skin-piercing. In one form, the test member is fixed in a retaining chamber of the container, and the sampling member is configured in the same retaining chamber such that it is separated at a distance from the test member in an initial state and is in contact with the test member to transfer body fluid in a transfer state after the skin-piercing.
Abstract:
A lancet housing assembly comprising multiple lancets for use in a portable handheld medical diagnostic device for sampling bodily fluids from a skin site of a patient is provided. The lancet housing assembly includes a housing structure comprising multiple lancet compartments. At least one of the lancet compartments comprises an outer facing side and an inner facing side. An opening is located at the outer facing side that is arranged and configured to align with a lancet port of the medical diagnostic device. A floor extends between the outer facing side and the inner facing side. A reagent material is located on the floor and within the lancet compartment. A lancet structure is located in the at least one lancet compartment. The lancet structure comprises a skin penetrating end and a blood transport portion adjacent the skin penetrating end. The skin penetrating end, when extended through the opening, is shaped and sized to penetrate the patient's skin at the skin site to provide an amount of blood. The blood transport portion is arranged and configured receive the amount of blood from the skin penetrating end and to carry the amount of blood away from the skin site and to the reagent material.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an analytical instrument for assaying body fluids, the instrument having the following features: a) a housing provided with a receiving element for engaging a body part, b) an abutment for the body part which can be moved between a release position and an operating position relative to the receiving element, c) a lancing unit having a lancing element that can pierce the body part resting against the abutment in a linear lancing stroke, d) a test tape unit having a test tape for receiving body fluid issuing from the body part, and e) a detection unit for examining the body fluid applied to a section of the test tape.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a system for withdrawing body fluids. The system includes a drive unit having a plunger which is moved from a resting position into a lancing position in order to carry out a lancing process and a lancing unit containing a lancet with a needle. The plunger and lancet are coupled together by a form fit in order to carry out a lancing process. The invention additionally concerns a method for temporarily extending a needle from a device for withdrawing body fluid as well as a lancing unit that can be attached to the drive unit.
Abstract:
An apparatus for obtaining and analyzing a blood sample is presented. The apparatus comprises an integrated drive unit having a common drive source and a drive force transmission gearing that couples a lancet drive, a device for advancing a magazine, and a sample transfer device to the drive source. A tensioning rotor and a drive rotor are mounted so that they are rotatable coaxially to one another. A first cam control converts the rotation of the drive rotor into a radial forward and reverse movement of a drive rod. A second cam control converts the rotational movement of the tensioning rotor into a linear movement of a link slide. A switching link moved by the link slide rotates the magazine an additional step. A third cam control converts the rotational movement of the tensioning rotor into a linear movement of a pressure tappet perpendicular to the piercing axis.
