A warp knitted fabric is for enclosing a pouched belt constituting an inflatable air belt and folded into a shape of a belt. The warp knitted fabric has good stretching characteristics, strength and comfortableness. The warp knitted fabric includes a knitting yarn 20 and an additional yarn 30 inserted into the knitting yarn 20. The thickness of the additional yarn 30 is 3000 d or below, and the thickness of the knitting yarn 20 is the same or below that of the additional yarn.

The invention measures a thickness variation at a high accuracy around a wide range of a thin plate by a comparatively large spot diameter between 0.5 mm and 2 mm. A polarization beam splitter separating a laser beam emitted from a laser generator and transmitting through an isolator into a measurement light and a reference light is provided. A quarter wavelength plate is provided between the polarization beam splitter and a measurement surface, and between the polarization beam splitter and a reference surface. A focusing and reflecting means for focusing and reflecting the measurement light reflected by the measurement surface and reflected by the polarization beam splitter, and the reference light reflecting by the reference surface and transmitting through the polarization beam splitter is provided. A half mirror reflecting the measurement light and the reference light which return from the polarization beam splitter is provided. A light receiving portion receiving the measurement light and the reference light which are reflected by the half mirror so as to interfere, converting an interference light intensity change into an electric signal, and counting the electric signal so as to measure a flatness of the measurement surface is provided.

A method for producing a multi-layered chip inductor includes the steps of: forming coil-shaped internal conductors inside a green ceramic laminate, each of which coil-shaped internal conductors is spiralled around an axial line in the laminating direction of the green ceramic laminate; applying an external electrode paste onto at least one laminating-direction surface of the green ceramic laminate, which external electrode paste connects to an end of the coil-shaped internal conductor; cutting the green ceramic laminate along the laminating direction into chip-shaped-green ceramic laminates each having the coil-shaped internal conductor inside; and firing each of the chip-shaped green ceramic laminates and baking the external electrode paste to form an external electrode.

A multi-layered inductor array is constructed to reduce and minimize variations in the inductance values and DC resistance values of a plurality of inductors contained in a multi-layered structure. In this multi-layered inductor array, four spiral inductors having an equal number of winding turns are aligned from the left end surface of the multi-layered structure to the right end surface thereof. In the direction in which the four spiral inductors are aligned, the lengths of the spiral portions of the inductors positioned at the central portion of the multi-layered structure are greater than those of the spiral portions of the spiral inductors positioned at both end portions thereof.

An inflatable air-belt device including a shoulder belt and lap belt. When the air-belt is inflated, a tension is generated in the shoulder belt and is transferred to the lap belt so that both the shoulder belt and the lap belt adhere closely to an occupant. When an emergency condition is detected, an inflator is actuated to inflate a bag located in the shoulder belt creating a tension of more than a predetermined strength in the shoulder belt. The lap belt is drawn toward the shoulder belt to release a stopper located in a buckle positioned between the belts. The lap belt moves toward the shoulder belt through a hole located in the tongue of the buckle. A nozzle for receiving pressurized gas is inserted in a slit in the belts so that the lap belt may move smoothly toward the shoulder belt without obstruction.
