Abstract:
A support vector machine with wavelet kernel was developed for accurate modeling of nonlinear systems. A method of providing an optimized model of a nonlinear system includes using a support vector machine (SVM) having a wavelet kernel, where support vectors include a family of multidimensional wavelets. Training the SVM allows optimization of the number of support vectors, the weights of the support vectors, and the translation factors of the support vectors. Use of a novel linear programming approach reduces computational demands required for training, allowing optimized support vectors to give an optimized model of the nonlinear system. Further, on-line retraining is possible, so that the model can be adapted to changing conditions.

Abstract:
A slew rate control circuit in output driver of switching circuit to prevent power ground undershoot is introduced. The gate capacitance of lower power transistor is first fast discharged to ensure the operation of the output signal. The gate capacitance of lower power transistor is then slowly discharged to limit OUT SLEW RATE. The gate capacitance of lower power transistor is further slowly discharged when the power ground level is below common ground. With above controlling, the gate voltage slew rate of lower power transistor is reduced when the lower power transistor is almost fully turned OFF. Therefore, undershoot at the power ground is avoided. Similar slew rate control circuit can also be derived in output driver of switching circuit to prevent PVCC overshoot.
Abstract:
Techniques for supporting high decoding throughput are described. A transmitter may encode a code block of data bits with a Turbo encoder. A receiver may perform decoding for the code block with a Turbo decoder having multiple soft-input soft-output (SISO) decoders. A contention-free Turbo interleaver may be used if the code block size is larger than a threshold size. A regular Turbo interleaver may be used if the code block size is equal to or smaller than the threshold size. The contention-free Turbo interleaver reorders the data bits in the code block such that information from the multiple SISO decoders, after interleaving or deinterleaving, can be written in parallel to multiple storage units in each write cycle without encountering memory access contention. The regular Turbo interleaver can reorder the data bits in the code block in any manner without regard to contention-free memory access.
Abstract:
A system and method for operating an engine is disclosed. The system and method includes performing multiple ignitions during a single engine cycle. According to one embodiment, a first ignition takes place during a first stroke in the cycle and a second ignition takes place during a second stroke in the cycle. The system and method may further include performing multiple injections during the engine cycle.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a method for a combined use of a local positioning system, a local RTK system and a regional, wide-area, or global differential carrier-phase positioning system (WADGPS) in which disadvantages associated with the local positioning system, the RTK and the WADGPS navigation techniques when used separately are avoided. The method includes determining a first position of the object based on information from the WADGPS, and determining a second position of the object based on position information from a local positioning/RTK positioning system. Thereafter, position determined by the WADGPS and the position determined by the local positioning/RTK positioning system are compared. The WADGPS position is used for navigating the object when the WADGPS position and local positioning/position differ by more than a predefined threshold, and using the local positioning/RTK position for navigating the object when the WADGPS position and local positioning/RTK position differ by less than the predefined threshold.

Abstract:
A silver dispersion is obtained by reducing a silver compound in the presence of a polymeric dispersant of an ionic hydrophilic segments, such as methacrylic acid segments and nonionic hydrophilic segments of alkoxy-terminated polyethylene glycol segments. Aqueous inkjet inks may contain such dispersants and other common ingredients such as a humectant. The printed inks can be sintered under heat to form solid, conductive patterns of silver.
Abstract:
Thermal inkjet printing through nozzles of width of about 25 microns or less is done with an ink having epoxy material suspended in the ink by a graft polymer having acid or other hydrophilic backbone, a hydrophobic side chain, and a stabilizing side chain, in which the molar ratio of hydrophilic moiety to hydrophobic moiety to stabilizing moiety is about 6:1:1 to 0:10:1 respectively.
Abstract:
A computer control system is described that monitors the functionality of an emission control device that is capable of storing NOx and oxygen during lean conditions, and releasing/reducing the stored oxygen and NOx during rich operating conditions. The computer uses a readable storage medium having stored data representing instructions executable by a computer. The instructions utilize a ratio between a lean operating time and a rich operating time to determine whether the catalyst has degraded.
