Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure and/or instillation fluids to a tissue site are disclosed. Some embodiments are illustrative of an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure and/or therapeutic solution of fluids to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with sensing properties of fluids extracted from a tissue site and/or instilled at a tissue site. For example, an apparatus may comprise a dressing interface or connector that includes a pH sensor, a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor and/or a pressure sensor embodied on a single pad within the connector and proximate the tissue site to provide data indicative of acidity, humidity, temperature and pressure. Such apparatus may further comprise an ambient port for providing the pressure sensor and the humidity sensor with access to the ambient environment providing readings relative to the atmospheric pressure and humidity.

Abstract: A manifold for treating a tissue site may include a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The second side of the manifold may be configured to face the tissue site, and to contract a greater amount than the first side of the manifold when exposed to a compressive force. In some illustrative examples, the manifold may be configured to distribute reduced pressure to the tissue site, and to contract when exposed to the reduced pressure. The manifold may be suitable for use with dressing assemblies, treatment systems, and methods for treating a tissue site.

Abstract: A system and method for performing tissue therapy may include applying a reduced pressure to a tissue site, sensing a fluid parameter being applied to the tissue site, generating a fluid sensor signal in response to sensing the fluid parameter, and altering the fluid sensor signal in response to sensing that the fluid parameter changes. A fluid leak location mode may be entered. In response to the fluid leak location mode being entered, a graphical user interface that provides for fluid leak location functionality may be displayed. In one embodiment, the fluid leak location mode may be automatically entered in response to the sensor signal crossing a threshold value. Additionally, an alarm signal may be generated in response to determining that the fluid sensor signal crosses the threshold value.

Abstract: This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to a connector for a dressing, such as a dressing of a hyperbaric oxygen therapy system. An example of a connector includes a connector body configured to define at least a portion of a first channel. The connector also includes a viewing member coupled to the connector body. The connector further includes a deformable member positioned within the first channel. The deformable member is configured to deform based on a pressure associated with the deformable member and to provide a visual indication, via the viewing member, of the pressure.

Abstract: A reduced-pressure system for delivering reduced pressure for medical purposes to a desired site and to receive fluids in one instance includes a reservoir having an interior space operable to contain the fluids. A reduced-pressure delivery conduit is placed in fluid communication with the interior space for delivering the reduced pressure to the desired site. A source conduit and a pressure sensor conduit are placed in fluid communication with the interior space. A pressure sensor is placed in fluid communication with the pressure sensor conduit. A reduced-pressure source is placed in fluid communication with the source conduit. A reduced-pressure control unit is associated with the pressure sensor and the reduced-pressure source and is operable to receive pressure data from the pressure sensor and supply data from the reduced-pressure source and to determine when a reservoir-full/blockage condition exists. Other systems and methods are presented.

Abstract: A dressing includes a hydrophilic foam layer having a longitudinal central axis configured to overlay the incision, a drape coupled to an outwardly-facing side of the hydrophilic foam layer, a first row of superabsorbent material positioned on the outwardly-facing side of the hydrophilic foam layer, and a second row of superabsorbent material positioned on the outwardly-facing side of the hydrophilic foam layer. The first row and the second row are spaced laterally apart from, and on opposite sides of, the longitudinal central axis. The drape includes a first window aligned with the first row and a second window aligned with the second row. The first window and the second window include a film, different from the drape, configured to facilitate evaporation therethrough.

Abstract: A wound fluid collection system includes a canister with a chamber fluidly connected to a wound dressing in a tissue site through an inlet and also fluidly connected to a reduced pressure source through an outlet. At least a portion of the canister is collapsible and yet can be maintained in an extended state when exposed to subatmospheric pressure. The canister is releasably attachable to a supporting member.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for instilling fluid to a tissue site in a negative-pressure therapy environment are described. Illustrative embodiments may include a pneumatically-actuated instillation pump that can draw a solution from a solution source during a negative-pressure interval, and instill the solution to a dressing during a venting interval. A pneumatic actuator may be mechanically coupled to a disposable distribution system that can provide a fluid path between the solution source and a distribution component. A bacterial filter may be disposed in the fluid path between the actuator and the distribution component to prevent contamination of the actuator during operation. The distribution system may be separated from the actuator and disposed of after operation, and the actuator may be re-used.

Abstract: A liquid-collection canister includes a liquid collection chamber defined by at least one wall and a first and second gas-communication pathway formed within the at least one wall. A first aperture is positioned between the first gas-communication pathway and the liquid collection chamber to allow gaseous communication between the liquid collection chamber and the first gas-communication pathway. A second aperture is positioned between the second gas-communication pathway and the liquid collection chamber to allow gaseous communication between the liquid collection chamber and the second gas-communication pathway. A first and a second liquid-air separator are positioned over the first aperture and the second aperture, respectively, to substantially prevent liquid passing through the first and second apertures.
