Abstract:
A mobile dual-stack node engages in IPv6 communication while roaming within an IPv4-only network. The node determines that it has moved and obtains a new IPv4 address. After determining that the visited network contains no IPv6-enabled components, the node communicates with a tunnel broker to obtain a care-of address and a tunnel to an IPv6 connect agent (e.g., a tunnel server). If the obtained care-of address differs from the care-of address that the node had been using prior to the move, the node sends MIPv6 binding updates to its home agent and corresponding peers. The node can optimize the handoff when it has obtained a different care-of address by sending a binding update to the connect agent comprising the previous care-of address and the current care-of address. When the connect agent receives a packet destined for the previous care-of address, it forwards the packet to the current care-of address.
Abstract:
A similar document retrieval method capable of realizing an improved retrieval performance. In this similar document retrieval method for retrieving similar documents of a reference document from a plurality of retrieval target documents, similarities of each one of the plurality of retrieval target documents with respect to the reference document are calculated by using each one of two or more similarity calculation methods separately, and the similar documents of the reference document are retrieved by carrying out a discrimination analysis with respect to each one of a plurality of similarities calculated by using each one of the two or more similarity calculation methods separately.
Abstract:
A causality detection apparatus for detecting causality of events based upon a database provided with log of the events includes a sorter module for generating an event list by sorting in time sequence the events, and a frequency analysis module for calculating, based upon the event list, the number of appearance of an event set pair of a first event set X(={e.sub.x1,e.sub.x2, . . . ,e.sub.xn, . . . }, e.sub.xn indicates an event and n is a natural number) and a second event set Y(={e.sub.y1,e.sub.y2, . . . ,e.sub.yn, . . . }, e.sub.yn indicates an event), the number of appearance of the first event set X and the number of appearance of the second event set Y. The event set pair has co-occurrence so that the second event set Y occurs within a predetermined time period (window size W) after a time of occurrence of the first event set X. The apparatus further includes a causality detection module for detecting, based upon the number of appearance of the event set pair , upon the number of appearance of the first event set X and upon the number of appearance of the second event set Y, significance of causality caused by the first event set X to occur the second event set Y within the window size W.
Abstract:
In a telephone terminal device, for example, a telephone answering device, when the device receives an inadvertent facsimile signal while it is in operation, the telephone line is disengaged via a facsimile signal detecting means for the purpose of preventing unwanted utilization of the telephone line and unnecessary consumption of the recording medium.
Abstract:
A deodorant equipment for an air conditioner includes a heater. A fin covers at least a part of an effective heating area of a surface of the heater. The fin has a radiator portion extending along a longitudinal direction of the heater. A vitreous coating film covers at least a part of an outer surface of the fin. A catalyst layer includes an absorption member and a catalyst. The absorption member absorbs odor components of air. The absorption member releases the odor components when being heated. The catalyst oxidizes and decomposes odor components when being heated.
Abstract:
In caller ID telephone service system, if a calling party does not want to display his telephone number on the called party side, the calling party takes an authorized key number (hereinafter called "blocking key number") with the telephone exchange office. The key number is composed of a 3 or 4 digit numerical signal, like a push-phone tone, when the subscriber calls any subscriber (called party) telephone number in this service area. If he dials that key number first and then the conventional number, the telephone exchange office detects that key number, then blocks (stops) sending the calling party telephone number to the called party side. On the other hand, the called party side has a device with a relay which functions to take out the associated telephone set from the telephone line after one ring because the device cannot detect telephone number information between the first ring and second ring. However, the telephone ring signal still comes successively via the telephone line and can activate a Telephone Answering Device (TAD).
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus connected to a telephone line and incorporating an automatic telephone answering and recording device, which is able to be responsive to various inputs, for example, a calling tone (CNG) or similar signal sent from a calling party's apparatus, or a specified signal sent by a calling party by pushing a DTMF tone button. If a user picks up a handset of a telehpone set connected to the telephone line during the operation of the automatic telephone answering device, the facsimile apparatus is not energized and returns to the standby mode in response to the off-hook operation of the telephone set, so that he or she can talk directly with the calling party. And during the telephone conversation between calling and called parties, the facsimile apparatus can be energized in response to manual operation by either of the parties.
Abstract:
An automatic switching circuit controls operation of a light. The circuit includes a voice recognizer and a manual switch. The switching circuit turns the illuminator on instantly in response to an "ON" command input via the manual switch or via the voice recognizer. The switching circuit turns the illuminator off a predetermined period of time after detecting an "OFF" command input via said manual switch or via the voice recognizer.
Abstract:
A method of producing polyurethane foam slab by allowing a urethane foam stock solution in a tank to expand in a reduced pressure. The flatness of the top of the polyurethane foam is secured by providing a lifting jig or a plate within the tank, or by rotating the tank. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also provided.
Abstract:
A cordless telephone having a base unit with automatic telephone answering function and a portable unit has an engaging means for forming an engaging circuit upon an incoming call from a calling party, when the portable unit is kept in the off-hook state over a preset period of time during sending of outgoing message from the base unit, and an outgoing message inhibiting circuit which activated by output of preset timer means and inhibit outgoing message then both parties' conversation can be recorded in recording means on base unit which is set in stand-by mode.
