Abstract:
A system and method for learning and asserting what portions of a utility GIS network model are incorrect or flawed as they relate to real world conditions, and what the correct real world relationships are in the field is described. The system and method leverage available smart grid data to assess the quality of a primary (GIS) source data set; quality data renders derived analyses across the utility valid, sound, and action worthy. The system and method utilize existing partially correct electrical network distribution model data and various non-specialized source data including smart meter, spatial, and customer information data collected from the network to test, validate and suggest corrections to the connectivity model. By forming putative ground truth assignments between utility components, the system tests the assumptions by examining the geospatial proximity and correlating voltage and event data over time to form refined hypothesis. These hypotheses are compared to the existing model and statistical tests are performed at a variety of confidence levels to propose a corrected network model to the user.
Abstract:
A process for selecting an optimal individual user solution including an optimal rate allocation and associated price for a predetermined bandwidth of cellular network resources includes application of an iterative process and selection from multiple proposed user solutions. The inputs to the iterative process include at least an initial user bid, an initial network rate allocation, a generated user utility function and the cost data. The user utility function includes multiple application user functions. Optimal solution selection includes comparing each multiple proposed user rate allocation with the initial network rate allocation for the user and selecting the closest multiple proposed user rate allocation to the initial network rate allocation. The process may be applied to aggregated cellular carrier scenarios.
Abstract:
A platform provides customers with complete and compelling consumption-based service while using the information it gathers to improve the customer's experience. This capability includes cloud integration to monitor the customer's cloud workload which is then used to identify risks and make recommendations on how to mitigate those risks through the management of the customer's security infrastructure. The platform relies upon third party security products from independent security vendors to provide the technology that forms the platform's security portfolio. Through the platform's web-based vendor portal, each vendor maintains its own product information including features sets, target customer demographics, applicable software stacks, compliance/regulatory capabilities and pricing. By cross referencing this product information with specific customer information, the platform can intelligently promote the correct products and capability upgrades at the right time to the right customers.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides antibodies that are useful for preventing and/or treating malaria. The epitope to which the antibodies bind is in close proximity to the conserved proteolytic cleavage site of P. falciparum circumsporozoite protein (CSP), and the antibodies provided in this disclosure can prevent cleavage and inhibit P. falciparum sporozoites from invading the liver.
Abstract:
Wave energy conversion systems are provided utilizing a mass of water entrained in a collapsible water mass enclosure that is suspended beneath a float (e.g., a vehicle, buoy, platform, etc.) to provide an inertial force in opposition to the rising heave-induced acceleration of the float. The water mass enclosure is communication with a generator, such as by tethering one end of a tethering means to the generator and the other to the enclosure. The enclosure may be placed in communication with an intermediary hydraulic system, which is also in communication with the generator. In certain embodiments, the system will include a reel system for deploying and retrieving the water masse enclosure.
Abstract:
Processes for the implementation and scoring of computer and network system defense exercises include base and modified scoring in accordance with various parameters and across multiple types of participants including attackers, defenders, forensic analysts, judges and referees. Effects-based scoring includes scoring for ascertaining status of an external client system by a participant in an independent client system.
Abstract:
A system and associated method for isolating intended radiation signals for determining target characteristics includes multiple detectors for detecting radiation signals having varying energies, delay modules for delaying the detected radiation signals and a discriminator associated with the multiple detectors for determining if detected radiation signals include unintended radiation signals, e.g., x-rays, and provided blanking signals to a switch in order to effectively remove the unintended radiation signals from the data that is presented to the processor for determining target characteristics.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for automating testing of multiple SATA hard drives with multiple motherboards are described herein. In certain embodiments any number of SATA drives may be switchably connected to any number of motherboards, and any number of tests may be performed on combinations of the SATA drives and motherboards without or with only minimal manual intervention between tests. In one embodiment, the system may include an automated selector having a controller adapted to receive a testing instruction and transmit the received testing instruction and a mainboard in communication with the controller. The mainboard may include a logic device to receive the testing instruction from the controller and/or a switch for pairing and unpairing motherboards with SATA storage devices.
