摘要: Imaging systems and methods are provided for detecting object that may be hidden under clothing, ingested, inserted, or otherwise concealed on or in a person's body. An imaging assembly and mechanisms for vertically moving the imaging assembly may be configured to reduce the overall form factor of such imaging systems, while still retaining an ability to perform full/complete imaging of a subject. A calibration system assembly can be included, comprising a first calibration assembly and second calibration assembly to perform fine-grained adjustments to the positioning of the X-ray detector.

摘要: A system and method is disclosed for detecting fissionable materials. In one embodiment the system may incorporate a neutron pulse generator configured to generate multiple short pulses of neutrons, or a single pulse of sufficient intensity, in a vicinity of an object of interest. The source pulse of neutrons includes neutrons which each have a full width half maximum time duration of less than about 100 ns and a peak energy level no greater than about 20 MeV. A fast response detector is used which is able to detect single neutron events indicative of fission neutrons having been produced by the source pulse of neutrons interacting with fissionable material associated with the object of interest, and which arrive at the fast response detector within a predetermined time window immediately before arrival of the source neutron pulses.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a radiation inspection apparatus and a radiation inspection method. The radiation inspection apparatus includes: a radiation inspection device comprising a ray source and a detector that cooperates with the ray source to perform scanning inspection on an object to be inspected, the radiation inspection device having an inspection channel for the object to be inspected to pass through when scanning inspection is performed thereon; and traveling wheels provided at the bottom of the radiation inspection device to enable the radiation inspection apparatus to travel in an extension direction of the inspection channel, and the traveling wheels are configured to rotate 90° to enable the radiation inspection apparatus to travel in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the inspection channel.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for scanning an item utilizing an X-ray scanner in order to facilitate a determination of whether the X-ray radiation penetrated through the entirety of the scanned item. Various embodiments comprise a conveying mechanism, an X-ray emitter, a detector, and an X-ray penetration grid (XPG). The XPG may comprise a radiopaque grid that may serve as a reference for determining whether radiation passes through the scanned item, the grid oriented such that the grid members are neither parallel nor perpendicular to the direction of travel. Such orientation may minimize or eliminate “ghosted” radiation signals included in a visual display of the radiation received by the detector. A scanned item may be oriented with the XPG such that radiation emitted by the X-ray emitter that passes through a portion of the scanned item must also pass through the XPG before being received by the detector.
