Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for protecting the skin against UV rays, using at least two cosmetic skincare and/or make-up compositions, comprising: the application, to at least part of the skin of the body or face, of at least a first layer of a first cosmetic composition comprising an oil phase and, optionally, an aqueous phase, followed by the application, on said first layer, of at least a second layer of a second anhydrous composition comprising at least 70 wt.-% powders selected from among fillers and pigments, and an oil phase, said method being characterized in that at least one of the two compositions contains at least one UV filter, preferably a liposoluble UV filter. The liposoluble UV filter is preferably in the second composition. The first composition is a make-up foundation or skincare base. The second composition is advantageously a loose or compact powder. The method can be used to improve the sensory properties of cosmetic products applied to the skin, preferably the face, while maintaining a satisfactory level of sun protection.
Abstract:
The invention relates to poly(oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate) microgels, to the process for preparing same and the uses thereof in various fields of application such as optics, electronics, pharmacy and cosmetics. These microgels have the advantage of being monodisperse, pH-responsive and temperature-responsive. They can carry magnetic nanoparticles or biologically active molecules. These microgels may also form transparent films, which have novel optical and electromechanical properties.
Abstract:
Applicator device for a cosmetic product, comprising a flexible applicator head comprising a convergent body and a terminal portion. The convergent body is shorter than the terminal portion, and the terminal portion has a uniform cross-section,
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use, in a cosmetic composition, of a peppermint extract, as agent intended to increase renewal of the cells of the epidermis associated with a deficiency in the expression of NOTCH proteins in keratinocyte progenitor cells, in particular for mature skin and/or skin exhibiting signs of dryness and of loss of firmness. The invention also relates to a cosmetic care method, for maintaining or regulating renewal of the cells of the epidermis associated with a deficiency in the expression of NOTCH proteins in keratinocyte progenitor cells, intended for mature and/or dry skin.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a dyestuff of plant origin, obtained from a colored part of a plant species, the cell tissues of which contain iridisomes responsible for the coloration of said part. It relates most particularly to a blue dyestuff obtained from the arils of the seeds of the plant species Ravenala madagascariensis. It also relates to compositions, in particular cosmetic compositions, especially intended for making up the skin or superficial body growths, containing said dyestuff.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cosmetic or dermatological composition containing a continuous aqueous phase in which are dispersed vesicles based on at least one alkyl polypentoside, and also comprising at least one alcohol and at least one surfactant.More precisely, the cosmetic or dermatological composition comprises at least one cosmetic or dermatological active agent and at least one continuous aqueous phase in which are dispersed vesicles, said vesicles comprising at least one alkyl polypentoside obtained by reaction of a pentose and of at least a first and a second fatty alcohol comprising a different number of carbon atoms ranging from 10 to 12, said polypentoside having an average polymerization degree of less than or equal to 2, and said composition also comprising at least one surfactant having a HLB of less than 10, and at least one alcohol containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing the composition, which consists in placing a mixture comprising alkyl polypentoside, the surfactant and the alcohol in contact with an aqueous phase with stirring.
Abstract:
The aim of the present invention is to improve the insight provided by conventional consumer studies. This question is particularly relevant in the case of selective products, where consumers rarely have the opportunity to fully compare and test a very wide assortment of products before eventually choosing one of them. The method of the invention provides an indication that a consumer is actually ready to purchase and use a particular product among numerous other products. In the method of the invention, the consumer tests the products one after another in a random order. After having trialed a product, he must indicate whether he is sufficiently satisfied with it, and must make a choice: either the product is sufficiently satisfactory, and the test is over, with the consumer not trying any other products, or else the product is not satisfactory at all, and he goes on to the next product. The method of the invention is original in that the consumer can never go back, even if, eventually, he decides, after having trialed the next product, that he prefers the previous product.

Abstract:
The invention relates to an additive comprising at least 95 wt. % of a mixture consisting of at least one organic filter filtering UVA, at least one organic filter filtering UVB, and from 1 to 50 wt. % of at least one non-volatile oil that is a solvent for said filters. This composition is particularly useful as an agent for protecting the organoleptic properties of a transparent cosmetic composition, against UV radiation.
