摘要: Cosmetic and dermatological compositions, including color changing compositions, are provided which typically include a plurality of synthetic particles having a size in the micrometer or nanometer range. Each synthetic particle typically includes one or more aggregates of a pigment selected from phenoxazone, phenoxazine, and a derivate or precursor thereof, and a stabilizing material which has a refractive index larger than 1.45; the aggregates having a size larger than about 100 nm and the composition being biodegradable and biocompatible.

摘要: The anthocyanin synthesized from date palm may include co-pigmented anthocyanin complexes synthesized by extracting an anthocyanin from date palm leaves and reacting the anthocyanin with phenolic compounds also resulting from date palm leaf extraction in order to produce a co-pigmented anthocyanin complex. Date palm leaf powder may be mixed with water containing about 1.08% hydrochloric acid in a glass or ceramic lined reactor, and extraction may be performed by boiling the mixture for an hour or more. The color of the co-pigmented anthocyanin complex produced by this method may be adjusted by continuing the heating in half hour increments, in order to deepen the hue of the co-pigmented anthocyanin complex. The co-pigmented anthocyanin complex may be separated from the liquid mixture by first filtering the liquid mixture, refining the liquid mixture by adding gelatin to form a colloidal solution, and freeze-drying the refined liquid mixture.

摘要: A method of preparing paprika red pigment with low polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons includes (1) drying, crushing and granulating mature peppers to obtain pepper particles; (2) extracting the pepper particles with a vegetable oil in a rotocel extractor to obtain a paprika red pigment solution; (3) extracting the paprika red pigment solution with an ethanol solution in a liquid-liquid extractor to remove spicy substances; (4) running the paprika red pigment solution through a low-pressure chromatography column to remove polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; and (5) concentrating the paprika red pigment solution to obtain the paprika red pigment with low polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

摘要: The invention relates to a coloring additive for food or feed, comprising a water extract of sweet chestnut wood comprising sweet chestnut tannins. The additive can be in granular or liquid form. The amount of tannins in the sweet chestnut wood extract is about 40 wt % or more, preferably 40 to 60 wt % expressed as total polyphenols, calculated on dry matter. 摘要: Edible colorant compositions containing a monoacylated anthocyanin of Compound I and methods of use are provided. The colorant compositions include at least the monoacylated anthocyanin colorant of Compound I extracted from red cabbage and a metal ion, and have a pH from about 6.0 to about 8.0. The colorant compositions can be derived from a non-artificial product and provide a stable, blue colorant that can be used in food products. Specifically, the monoacylated anthocyanin colorant provides color characteristics similar to those provided by the artificial blue colorant, FD&C Blue No. 1.
