The method can also comprise receiving an azimuth precoder-matrix-indicator. The method can also comprise receiving an elevation precoder-matrix-indicator. The method can also comprise transmitting based on the received azimuth precoder-matrix-indicator and the received elevation precoder-matrix-indicator.
Abstract:
The specification and drawings present a new method, apparatus and software related product for using elevation beamforming with standardized CSI feedback for evolving deployment scenarios (e.g., in LTE and LTE-A wireless systems). According to an embodiment of the invention, a network element such as eNB may send to a UE reference signals (e.g., CSI-RS) on a plurality of resources or PRBs (e.g., frequency subbands), each resource can be transmitted with one of a plurality of downtilt angles/values. In response, the network element may receive from the UE a feedback report including selected by the UE one or more of the plurality of resources/frequency subbands and related information on PMI/CQI/RI for each selected resource/frequency subband. Then, based on the feedback report, the network element can determine/identify at least one preferred downtilt angle to use for future transmissions to the UE.
Abstract:
Communication systems may employ transmission of feedback information and responses thereto, on a wireless connection such as a millimeter wave connection. The feedback information itself may be used to influence the beamforming or beam direction used for the transmission of the feedback information. A method can comprise determining a feedback indicator regarding reception of a transmitted waveform. The method can also comprise tailoring, for example beamforming, a signal for transmitting the feedback indicator based on a content of the feedback indicator.
Abstract:
An LCD controller includes a charge pump for generating a charge voltage responsive to an external voltage and a clock signal. The controller further includes an oscillator for generating the clock signal responsive to an oscillator control signal. An LCD driver voltage circuit generates a plurality of LCD driver voltages for driving segments of an associated LCD display. A loop control circuit within the LCD controller monitors an LCD driver voltage from the LCD driver voltage circuit and generates the oscillator control signal responsive thereto to enable and disable the oscillator.
Abstract:
A method for managing communication in a system having a device in communication with a server via a communication path which includes gateway. A communication session is initiated by transmitting a request signal from the device to the gateway. The signal is then routed through the gateway, and the signal is then transmitted from the gateway to the server.
Abstract:
A joint having two-axis construction having a distal member and a main member joined in co-linear pivotal relation that provides enhanced joint strength and compactness. Hydraulics further provide variable extension assist and an infinite number of flexion stops for controlled flexion flow, and two gears provide a functional gear ratio that also promotes compact construction by reducing the amount of hydraulic piston travel required for maximum joint extension. A drive gear associated with the main member is positioned between the distal end of the piston and a transfer gear partially press-fit into a cut-out in the distal member, to provide needed radial hydraulic force transfer. Although it is contemplated for joint use to be primarily in orthotic devices that assist the movement of an inadequately functioning body limb, any application for which the mechanical joint's compact configuration would provide assistance or technical advantage is considered to be within its scope.
Abstract:
A method includes transmitting a training signal from each of N omni-directional beams corresponding to N entries in an omni-directional codebook, receiving feedback including indication(s) corresponding to an entry from a narrow beam codebook entry to use to transmit, determining, based on the indication(s), the entry from a narrow beam codebook entry to use to transmit, and transmitting a data signal using the entry from the narrow beam codebook. Another method includes receiving at a receiver a training signal including N omni-directional beams corresponding to N entries in an omni-directional codebook, determining a best entry from a narrow beam codebook to use by a transmitter in transmissions to the receiver, where the best entry is determined as a function of the received training signal including the N omni-directional beams, and transmitting to the transmitter indication(s) corresponding to the best entry of the narrow beam codebook.
Abstract:
An anti-flicker and anti-glow switchable load apparatus to be installed in the light socket of a commonly powered electronic switching device, such as a motion activated light switch. An energy efficient light bulb or lamp, such as a cathode fluorescent lamp or light emitting diode is then screwed into the apparatus. A first embodiment of the present invention includes a switchable light source, a switchable load, a controller, and a voltage sensor. When the present invention in the first embodiment detects a higher voltage, thus indicating the lamp has been switched from the “off” state to the on state, the switchable load is disconnected, and the current is re-routed to pass through the energy efficient lamp.
Abstract:
A vapor compression refrigeration system including components capable of determining the superheat at a compressor inlet is provided. The vapor compression refrigeration system may include sensors capable of making measurements from which the superheat at the compressor inlet may be determined. The vapor compression refrigeration system may be operable to compare the determined superheat level at the inlet to the compressor to a desired superheat level and generate a new evaporator discharge superheat level target for one or more evaporators operatively interconnected to the compressor to affect the superheat at the compressor inlet. The vapor compression refrigeration system may be operable to broadcast the new evaporator discharge superheat level target to the one or more evaporators over a communications bus. The vapor compression refrigeration system may update and broadcast the evaporator discharge superheat level target at programmed intervals.
