According to each embodiment of this invention, an encryption apparatus, decryption apparatus, and key generation apparatus based on a public-key cryptographic scheme whose security is based on the divisor finding problem of obtaining a divisor on an algebraic surface which is a difficult problem that has not been solved by contemporary mathematics are realized by an arrangement using, as a private key, a section D of algebraic curves (divisors) on a fibration X(x, y, t) of an algebraic surface X. This makes it possible to create a public-key cryptographic scheme which can ensure security even in the advent of a quantum computer, can be securely realized by even current computers, and can be realized in a low-power environment.

The invention relates to olefin branched macromonomers, olefin graft copolymers and olefin resin compositions having the advantage of good compatibility with polyolefin resins and good moldability and workability. The olefin branched macromonomer satisfies the following (a) and (b): (a) its weight-average molecular weight (Mw) measured through gel permeation chromatography (GPC) falls between 400 and 200000; (b) its vinyl content is at least 70 mol % of all the unsaturated groups in the macromonomer.

A ceramic composite material comprises a ceramic material constituting a matrix, and dispersion particles disposed in the matrix in a dispersing manner. A specific shape of a ceramic composite material is, for instance, a sinter or a thermally sprayed layer. The dispersion particles are consisting of a composite oxide including at least one kind of a first metallic element selected from alkaline earth metals such as Mg and Ca, and at least one kind of a second metallic element selected from W, Ti, Ta, Mo, Nb, V, B, Te, Ge and Si, for instance, are composite oxide particles precipitated by reacting a compound containing a first metallic element and a compound including a second metallic element through heat treatment. The precipitated particles consisting of such a composite oxide can be dispersed as planar particles or acicular particles in the ceramic layer to which, for instance, thermal spraying is applied. The dispersion particles suppress deterioration of strength or toughness of the oxide based ceramic material under high temperature atmosphere.

A method for evaluating quality of a resistance weld is provided, in which a nugget generation state during a welding process is evaluated by observable numerical values based on physical phenomena, and which can afford a wide application range in welding material as well as a capability of accurate knowledge as to the nugget generation state of the weld. Based on that a specific resistance value of a metal material to be welded has a temperature dependency in a conduction state of AC or current-pulsated welding current, a rate of change of inter-chip dynamic resistance instantaneous value during a current changing period is determined, a changing state of the dynamic resistance instantaneous value is further calculated, and a heat-generating state of a weld zone, i.e., a nugget formation state is estimated. Thus, a quality evaluation of a weld is performed accurately.

The present invention provides a ceramic sintered body excellent in oxidation resistance under high temperatures and markedly superior to the conventional ceramic sintered body in the mechanical strength over a wide temperature range of between room temperature and 1,500.degree. C. The ceramic sintered body of the present invention comprises at least one ceramic crystal grain selected from the group consisting essentially of a monosilicate represented by the general formula RE.sub.2 SiO.sub.5, where RE denotes a IIIa group element including yttrium, and a disilicate represented by the general formula RE.sub.2 Si.sub.2 O.sub.7, where RE denotes a IIIa group element including yttrium, and at least one additional element selected from the group consisting of Al, Cr, Hf, Nb, Zr, Ti, V, Ta, Ca and Mg which is segregated in the boundaries of the ceramic crystal grains in an amount of 0.1 to 15% by weight of the sintered body in terms of the oxide thereof.

A skin movement detector is disclosed which comprises a case having an opening; a pressure-sensitive element having a diaphragm portion and disposed within the case; and a contact probe, made of a soft member, for contacting a skin surface, the contact probe being attached to the case so as to cover the opening and having a projecting portion contacting the diaphragm portion; the contact probe including a plate portion adapted to contact the skin, a base portion, and a leg portion connecting the plate portion and the base portion. The skin movement detector may also include regulating means positioned at an outer periphery of the projecting portion for contacting the diaphragm support portion peripherally when a force exceeding a predetermined value is applied to the contact probe. The skin movement detector thus provides high sensitivity in all directions across the skin and prevents excessive displacement of the diaphragm.

According to the present invention, there is provided a fiber-reinforced silicon nitride ceramic prepared by sintering a starting composition containing silicon nitride, at least one sintering additive and silicon carbide fiber or a fiber containing silicon carbide as a major constituent (to be referred to as a silicon carbide fiber hereinafter), characterized in that said silicon carbide fiber has a length of 200 .mu.m or more, and is contained 5 to 50 wt %, and said sintering additive is contained 0.1 to 30 wt % and is selected from the group consisting of an oxide, a nitride, and a carbide of titanium or zirconium, a composite oxide of titanium and zirconium, magnesia, and spinel. When the contents of the fibers and the sintering addtives fall within the ranges according to the present invention, a high strength and a large toughness value are simultaneously obtained.
