Abstract: Provided is a production method for a layered product in which a metal film can be formed on the surface of a polyarylene sulfide (PAS) molded article with a high adhesive force by a simple step. Further, provided are: a polyarylene sulfide resin composition and a molded article that can be used in the layered product in which a metal film can be formed on the surface of the PAS molded article with a high adhesive force by a simpler step; and production methods therefor. More specifically, provided are: a polyarylene sulfide resin composition obtained by blending a polyarylene sulfide resin, a thermoplastic elastomer and/or a hydrolyzable thermoplastic resin, a carbonate, and a polyolefin-based wax; a molded article which is obtained by melt-molding the polyarylene sulfide resin composition and in which the surface is roughened; a layered product having a metal plating layer; and production methods therefor.

Abstract: A surface-treated steel sheet for a battery container includes a steel sheet, an iron-nickel diffusion layer formed on the steel sheet, and a nickel layer formed on the iron-nickel diffusion layer and constituting the outermost layer. When the Fe intensity and the Ni intensity are continuously measured from the surface of the surface-treated steel sheet for a battery container along the depth direction with a high frequency glow discharge optical emission spectrometric analyzer, the thickness of the iron-nickel diffusion layer being the difference (D2−D1) between the depth (D1) at which the Fe intensity exhibits a first predetermined value and the depth (D2) at which the Ni intensity exhibits a second predetermined value is 0.04 to 0.31 μm; and the total amount of the nickel contained in the iron-nickel diffusion layer and the nickel contained in the nickel layer is 10.8 to 26.7 g/m2.

Abstract: A hot-pressed member includes a steel sheet, a Ni-diffusion region present in a surface layer of the steel sheet, and an intermetallic compound layer and a ZnO layer which are provided in order on the Ni-diffusion region, the intermetallic compound layer corresponding to a γ phase present in a phase equilibrium diagram of a Zn—Ni alloy, wherein a spontaneous immersion potential indicated in a 0.5 M NaCl aqueous air-saturated solution at 25° C.±5° C. is −600 to −360 mV based on a standard hydrogen electrode.

Abstract: The cylinder rod of a hydraulic cylinder includes a body portion having a bar shape, and a head portion arranged at a longitudinal end of the body portion. The body portion has a coating formed on its outer peripheral surface. The coating includes, in terms of area ratio in cross section, not less than 56.1% and not more than 84.4% of a chromium carbide phase, with the remainder consisting of a nickel-based alloy phase and an oxide phase. Abstract: Techniques for graphic formation via material ablation described. In at least some implementations, a graphic is applied to a surface of an object by ablating layers of the object to form an ablation trench in the shape of the graphic. In at least some embodiments, an object can include a surface layer and multiple sublayers of materials. When an ablation trench is generated in the object, the ablation trench can penetrate a surface layer of the object and into an intermediate layer. In at least some implementations, height variations in an object surface caused by an ablation trench can cause variations in light reflection properties such that a graphic applied via the ablation trench appears at a different color tone than a surrounding surface, even if the ablation trench and the surrounding surface are coated with a same colored coating.
