    摘要: Embodiments herein advantageously reduce the amount of control signalling and header information that must accompany an application layer message when transporting that message from a wireless device to a supporting application server via an intermediate node. To do so, the wireless device prepares a single radio block that includes the application layer message and an indication that the single radio block contains the entire application layer message. The device then sends a control message to the intermediate node that requests allocation of radio resources for sending the single radio block without establishing a temporary block flow (TBF). The device finally sends the single radio block using the allocated resources, without a TBF. Upon receiving the block, the intermediate node determines, based on the indication within the block, whether or not the block contains an entire application layer message. If so, the intermediate node forwards that application layer message towards the application server.

    摘要: A wireless communication network having received-priority access requests on an access channel issues an implicit reject response on a grant channel, such as a flag or other value embedded in an explicit access grant or explicit access reject response. The implicit reject response applies to some or all outstanding low-priority access requests. At the expiration of a terminal's grant channel monitoring window, if it has detected an applicable implicit reject response but not an explicit response, the terminal will refrain from transmitting another access request for a predetermined or configurable duration. The implicit reject response may comprise a flag, or a value that implicitly rejects only a fraction of the outstanding low-priority access requests. The implicit reject response may comprise a duration that the terminal must wait prior to transmitting another access request, and may direct the terminal to directly monitor the grant channel without transmitting a subsequent access request.

    摘要: A mobility management entity (MME) for setting up a call includes a first network interface which receives a tracking area update (TAU) request from a user equipment (UE). The MME includes a processing unit which translates the TAU request into a location area update (LAU) request. The MME includes a second network interface in communication with the processing unit which sends the LAU request to a mobile switching center (MSC) selected as a tracking MSC thereby establishing the MME as a network node through which the UE is paged. The second network interface receiving a LAU response from the tracking MSC that includes at least information identifying one or more suitable location area identifiers (LAI(s)) to which handover is allowed and Network Resource Identifier (NRI) information where the information indicates that the tracking MSC controls the suitable LAI(s), and the processing unit translating the LAU response into a TAU response which is sent through the first network interface to the UE.

A Gs-like interface between a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) of the CS Core Network and the Mobility Management Entity (MME) of the Evolved Packet Core provides an interface for page requests and location update procedures to be performed.

    摘要: To access a network, an MTC device sends a channel request message to the network over a random access channel. The channel request message includes a device type indication and a resource type indication. The device type indication may for example, indicate to the network that the requesting device is an MTC device or non-MTC device. Upon receipt of the channel request, the receiving network node can determine on the basis of the device type indication and resource type indication whether to grant or deny the access attempt, and to determine what resources to grant. The channel request message may further include a call duration indication in the channel request message if CS resources are requested for a voice call or a priority indication if CS resources are requested for a data transmission.
