    摘要： A portable electronic dictionary and language interpreter comprises a sentence memory, a word memory, and a control circuit. The sentence memory stores a plurality of incomplete sentences. The word memory contains plenty of words added to the incomplete sentences so that complete sentences are formed. The control circuit is provided for controlling the manner by which each of the words generated from the word memory is added to each of the incomplete sentences developed from the sentence memory. Each of the words to be added is directed by an input device. The input device may comprises alphabetical key switches or a search key switch actuated for addressing the word memory. A display is provided for indicating the complete sentences.

    摘要： An electronic translator is featured where a particular sentence is accessed from a memory depending on at least one key word entered. The key word is contained in the particular sentence. A subject category may be selected from a plurality of subject categories and only sentences within the selected category may be searched. The translator comprises an input circuit for entering the key word, and subject category an access means for accessing the key word from the subject category within memory so as to specify and access the sentence, and a detection circuit for detecting whether the key word is accessed from the subject category within memory.

    摘要： An electronic language interpreter, for enabling that a specific word in a first language be entered to obtain an equivalent translated word in a second language includes a memory specifying circuit for specifying each memory of a plurality of first memories for storing words written in the first language and second memories for storing translated words written in the second language. One of the first memories and one of the second memories both specified by the memory specifying circuit generate pairs of words including one of the words and its corresponding one of the translated word, respectively. A mode selector may be provided for selectively placing the language interpreter in an interpreter mode or in a mode wherein it functions as an electronic language learning aid for enabling that the plurality of translated words be sequentially retrieved from one of the second memories selected by the memory specifying circuit. Words considered to be equivalent to the translated words may be entered by the operator so as to determine their equivalency and to check his knowledge of the translated words.
