    摘要: A system for testing a communication device includes a testing module, a measurement module, and a control module. The testing module transmits one or more first test signals based on a first test sequence. The measurement module acquires test data by receiving one or more second test signals that are based on the one or more first test signals. The control module initiates the first test sequence in response to receiving a start test signal from an analysis system. The control module transfers the test data to the analysis system in response to a transfer data request. The control module initiates a second test sequence while the analysis system is analyzing the test data. The testing module generates and transmits one or more third test signals based on the second sequence when the second test sequence has been initiated.

    摘要: A Global System for Mobile (GSM) cellular system transceiver with time division duplexed operations for receiving a data signal, monitoring received signal strength and transmitting a data signal during a single time frame. Multiple data registers are used to store the phase lock loop (PLL) frequency control data, e.g., during the last time slot (slot 7) of the prior time frame (or elsewhere in the prior time frame where time permits). Also during slot 7 of the prior time frame, the PLL is programmed using the first data set for the data reception operation to be performed during one or more of the initial time slots (e.g., time slots 0-3) of the present time frame. During the next time slot (e.g., slot 4), the PLL is programmed using the second data set for the signal strength monitoring operation to be performed during that same time slot. During the next time slot (e.g., slot 5), the PLL is programmed using the third data set for the data transmission operation to be performed beginning in that same time slot. By prestoring all three PLL frequency control data sets, such data sets are immediately available when later programming the PLL, thereby reducing the PLL setup time needed prior to each use. Consequently, an integer PLL can be used instead of a fractional PLL while still achieving a sufficiently fast combined setup and lock time, thereby minimizing integrated circuit area and power requirements.

    摘要: A wireless communication system (e.g., GSM) receiver including analog (e.g., analog channel select) and digital filters, and bandwidth control circuitry which operates during at least one mode (e.g., a synchronization mode) to effectively narrow the combined pass band of the analog and digital filters thus reducing the bandwidth of noise passing therethrough, and a method for reducing noise pass band (preferably by data rotation) in at least one mode (e.g., a synchronization mode) but not all modes of wireless communication system receiver. Preferably,the bandwidth control circuitry passes through the output of an analog-to-digital converter (indicative of data) to the digital filter during at least one operating mode, and the bandwidth control circuitry rotates the data in the complex domain (during at least one other mode) before the data is digitally filtered. Rotation of the data is equivalent to rotation of the digital filter pass band, so that (during synchronization) the combined pass band of the analog and digital filters is effectively narrowed but is still sufficiently wide to include the frequency of a frequency correction burst. By performing data rotation in the complex domain, noise bandwidth reduction can be accomplished with simple logic circuitry configured to perform simple logic operations.
