    摘要: Techniques pertaining to an adaptive/configurable IF wireless receiver are disclosed. Such an adaptive/configurable IF wireless receiver can be used in a Bluetooth device. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a wireless receiver is designed to include a low noise amplifier configured to amplify an input RF signal; an adjustable local RF synthesizer configured to provide a local RF clock signal with variable frequency; a RF mixer configured to down convert the amplified RF signal to an analog IF signal by mixing the local RF clock signal with the amplified RF signal; a filter configured to filter the analog IF signal; an analog to digital converter configured to convert the filtered analog IF signal to a digital IF signal; an adjustable digital local IF synthesizer configured to provide a digital local IF clock signal with variable frequency; a digital mixer configured to down convert the digital IF signal to a baseband signal by mixing the digital local IF clock signal with the digital IF signal; and an IF configuration unit provided to configure the adjustable local RF synthesizer to vary the frequency of the local RF clock signal, and configure the adjustable digital local IF synthesizer to vary the frequency of the digital local IF clock signal.

    摘要: A wideband multi-channel receiver comprises an antenna configured to receive a radio frequency band. A band-pass filter is in signal communication with the antenna, and a low-noise amplifier is in signal communication with the band-pass filter. A mixer is in signal communication with the low-noise amplifier and is configured to translate a radio frequency band to an intermediate frequency (IF) band. A tunable local oscillator is in signal communication with the mixer. At least one fixed-frequency notch filter is in signal communication with the mixer, with the notch filter configured to reject at least one interference signal in the IF band while passing remaining signals in the IF band. An analog-to-digital converter is in signal communication with the notch filter and is configured to convert the remaining signals in the IF band to digital signals.

    摘要: A direct digital radio having a high speed RF front end in communication with an antenna, and a radio subsystem that can be configured to form a multi-channel, full duplex transceiver system. The high speed RF front end provides a digital signal to the radio subsystem. Each transceiver includes a waveform processing subsystem that makes use of a linear, phase-B cubic spline interpolating finite impulse response (IFIR) filter for filtering the received RF signal substantially entirely in the digital domain. The linear phase-B, cubic spline IFIR filter requires significantly fewer hardware components than traditional FIR filters and is ideally suited for implementation using Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) technology.

    摘要: Disclosed are hybrid heterodyne transmitters and receivers for use in communications systems, or other systems, and the corresponding methods for hybrid heterodyne transmitting and receiving. A heterodyne receiver for converting a continuous time modulated signal to a discrete time digital baseband signal includes a sigma-delta modulator. The sigma-delta modulator is a sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter constructed and arranged to receive a modulated signal at an RF carrier frequency and provide a quantized output at a first intermediate frequency. The heterodyne receiver may also include a digital mixer constructed and arranged to receive a data stream quantized by the sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter and receive a signal at a second mixing frequency. The digital mixer then provides digital signals representative of a baseband signal suitable for digital signal processing.
