Abstract: A method provides for receiving network traffic from a host having a host IP address and operating in a data center, and analyzing a malware tracker for IP addresses of hosts having been infected by a malware to yield an analysis. When the analysis indicates that the host IP address has been used to communicate with an external host infected by the malware to yield an indication, the method includes assigning a reputation score, based on the indication, to the host. The method can further include applying a conditional policy associated with using the host based on the reputation score. The reputation score can include a reduced reputation score from a previous reputation score for the host.

Abstract: A method includes capturing first data associated with a first packet flow originating from a first host using a first capture agent deployed at the first host to yield first flow data, capturing second data associated with a second packet flow originating from the first host from a second capture agent deployed on a second host to yield second flow data and comparing the first flow data and the second flow data to yield a difference. When the difference is above a threshold value, the method includes determining that the second packet flow was transmitted by a component that bypassed an operating stack of the first host or a packet capture agent at the device to yield a determination, detecting that hidden network traffic exists, and predicting a malware issue with the first host based on the determination.

Abstract: A system that incorporates aspects of the subject disclosure may perform operations including, for example, obtaining uplink information associated with a downlink path, wherein the uplink information includes operational parameters used by a plurality of communication devices for transmitting wireless signals on a plurality of uplink paths; performing, based on the uplink information, a plurality of measurements of the plurality of uplink paths; identifying a measurement from the plurality of measurements that is below a threshold, thereby indicating an affected uplink path of the plurality of uplink paths; initiating a first filtering of the affected uplink path, wherein the initiating is based on the identifying and wherein the first filtering is based upon one or more first filtering parameters; and receiving instructions comprising one or more updated filtering parameters, wherein the instructions are received by the system at a port of the system. Abstract: A dummy signal generation circuit includes a consecutive identical digit (CID) detection circuit and a dummy transition circuit. The CID detection circuit detects occurrence of N CIDs in serial data, and sets a transition enable window in response to each sequence of N CIDs in the serial data, where N is a positive integer not smaller than 3. The dummy transition circuit generates a dummy signal that has transitions constrained to occur within transition enable windows set by the CID detection circuit.

Abstract: Determining ambient noise in a device under test electromagnetic compatibility test environment is presented herein. A method can include determining, by a system comprising a processor via a radio frequency input port of the system, an ambient electromagnetic noise corresponding to the system; and in response to determining, by the system via the radio frequency input port, a radio frequency signature of a device under test, subtracting, by the system, the ambient electromagnetic noise from the radio frequency signature to obtain a normalized value representing an electromagnetic emission of the device under test. In an example, an antenna/coaxial cable has been connected to the radio frequency input port, the ambient electromagnetic noise can be determined using the antenna/coaxial cable, and a radiated/conducted electromagnetic characteristic of the device under test representing the radio frequency signature of the device under test can be determined using the antenna/coaxial cable.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a monitoring device (or module) monitors messages exchanged between nodes in a communication network. The monitoring device further determines, based on time stamp data associated with each message, one or more latency distributions of paired response times between the nodes, and determines a node topology consistent with each of the one or more latency distributions of paired response times between the nodes. In some embodiments, the monitoring device also generates a graph of the node topology showing one or more communication links between the nodes, and annotates each communication link of the one or more communication links with at least one of a mean response time or a median response time based on at least one of the latency distributions.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a receiver of modulated signals comprises a signal sampling unit configured to sample a signal, a zero-crossing demodulator, and a timing offset tracking unit. The zero-crossing demodulator includes: a zero-crossing counter configured to determine a number of zero crossings for each pulse of the signal, and a symbol selector configured to decode a sequence of pulses as a symbol based on the number of zero crossings in the sequence of pulses. The timing offset tracking unit is configured to: calculate a metric based on an accumulation of the number of zero crossings and corresponding pulse values of the decoded symbol, compare the metric to a predetermined threshold value, and compensate a timing offset of the signal by causing the signal sampling unit to sample the signal at an earlier interval or a later interval in response to the comparison.

Abstract: A method provides for associating reputation scores with policies, stacks and hosts within a network and upon receiving information about a newly provisioned entity (such as a host or a stack), recommending a policy scheme for the newly provisioned entity that will result in a particular reputation score of the reputation scores. The method further includes implementing the policy scheme for the newly provisioned entity.
