    Abstract: The invention provides a composition comprising at least the following: a) a first composition comprising at least one first ethylene-based polymer, formed by high pressure, free-radical polymerization, and wherein the first composition comprises the following properties: a melt index (I2) from 1.0 to 15.0 g/10 min, and density from 0.910 to 0.940 g/cc; b) a second composition comprising at least one second ethylene-based polymer, and wherein the second composition comprises the following properties; a melt index (I2) from 1.0 to 1000 g/10 min, a density greater than 0.940 g/cc; wherein the composition comprises the following properties: melt index (I2) from 2.0 to 20.0 g/10 min, and a density from 0.915 to 0.940 g/cc; and wherein the first composition is present in an amount from 65 to 95 wt %, based on the weight of the composition.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to biaxially oriented, multilayer polyethylene films and to laminates and articles formed therefrom. In one aspect, a biaxially oriented, multilayer polyethylene film comprises Layer A which is a sealant layer p having a top facial surface and a bottom facial surface and comprising a first polyethylene, wherein the first polyethylene has a density of at least 0.900 g/cm3, an IHDF>95 of 20-60 kg/mol, and a MWHDF>95 of greater than 130 kg/mol, wherein Layer A comprises at least 50 weight percent of the first polyethylene based on the weight of Layer A, and Layer B having a top facial surface and a bottom facial surface, wherein Layer B comprises one or more additional polyethylenes, and wherein the top facial surface of Layer B is in adhering contact with a bottom facial surface of Layer A, wherein the density of the first polyethylene is at least 0.002 g/cm3 less than the density of Layer B.

    Abstract: The present invention provides multilayer films, packages formed from such films, and methods of making multilayer films. In one aspect, a multilayer film comprises multilayer film comprising at least 3 layers, each layer having opposing facial surfaces and arranged in the order A/B/C, wherein Layer A comprises a high density polyethylene having a Mw,cc/Mn,cc of at least 6.0, a Mz,abs of at least 500,000 grams/mol as measured by triple detector GPC, and a density of 0.957-0.970 g/cm3, wherein the high density polyethylene comprises at least 90 percent by weight of Layer A; Layer B comprises a gas permeation layer, wherein a top facial surface of Layer B is in adhering contact with a bottom facial surface of Layer A; and Layer C comprises a high density polyethylene having a Mw,cc/Mn,cc of at least 6.0, a Mz,abs of at least 500,000 grams/mol as measured by triple detector GPC, and a density of 0.957-0.970 g/cm3, wherein the high density polyethylene comprises at least 90 percent by weight of Layer C and wherein a top facial surface of Layer C is in adhering contact with a bottom facial surface of Layer B, wherein the film is oriented in the machine direction and wherein the film exhibits a normalized carbon dioxide transmission rate of at least 3000 cm3·mil/100 in2/day when measured according to ASTM F-2476 at 23° C., 0% relative humidity, and 1 atm, and wherein the film exhibits a ratio of the carbon dioxide transmission rate to an oxygen transmission rate of at least 4.0, when the oxygen transmission rate is measured according to ASTM D3985 at 23° C., 0% relative humidity, and 1 atm.

    Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein include multilayer films having at least an outer layer that includes 1) polyethylene elastomer and 2) ULDPE or VLDPE and that has a purge fraction greater than 20 percent as determined by Crystallization Elution Fractionation (CEF) test method. Embodiments disclosed herein also include related compositions to make such films and methods of making such films. The ULDPE or VLDPE can be made via Ziegler-Natta catalyst reaction techniques to provide the desired purge fraction.
