摘要: An information recording/reproducing device includes a light source separately projecting laser light for recording or reproducing, an optical system leading the projected laser light to a recording medium, a diffracting element separating laser light into main- and beam sub-beams, an evanescent light generating element irradiating evanescent light in relation to the separated sub-beam to a track where no recording pit is formed, a sub-light receiving element for receiving return light in relation to the sub-beam, a moving element for moving the evanescent light generating element in relation to the sub-beam to a direction to change a gap with the recording surface, and a control element; for controlling the moving element so as to make the gap become a predetermined target value in accordance with a gap error signal containing a signal indicative of a light amount of the return light in relation to the received sub-beam.

摘要: An information recording medium comprising a substrate (1), a recording layer (2) formed on the substrate in order to record information, a color filter (4) formed on the substrate, and a thermal reflectance variation layer (3) formed on the substrate in order to vary light reflectance by heat incident to irradiation of light and to reflect visible light entering from one side of the substrate through a color filter. High precision color writing or color label writing can be carried out on an information recording medium such as DVD and BD where a label can be written on the surface by irradiating light.

摘要: A writable optical disc has an information writing track, and a guiding track for introducing a laser beam to the information writing track. The guiding track has prepit information recorded thereon, the prepit information including at least address information of the optical disc. The prepit information is recorded on the guiding track at a position where interference of adjacent guiding tracks with the prepit information is prevented. The information writing track is a groove track, and the guiding track is a land track.

摘要: An optical disk includes a substrate covered with an information recording layer. The information recording layer includes a recording material and a dispersion material dispersed in the recording material. The recording material absorbs recording light for recording information, and then generates heat. As the light refraction index of the recording material changes due to the heat generation, information is recorded on the recording material. The dispersion material has lower absorptance of the recording light and lower thermal conductivity than the recording material, and an external dimension smaller than a diffraction limit of reading light for reading information.

摘要: An optical disk includes a substrate covered with an information recording layer. The information recording layer includes a recording material and an exothermic material dispersed in the recording material. The exothermic material absorbs recording light for recording information, and then generates heat. An external dimension of the exothermic material is smaller than the diffraction limit of reading light for reading information. The recording material has absorptance of a wavelength of the recording light lower than that of the exothermic material. Information is recorded on the recording material as the light refraction index of the recording material changes due to heating.

摘要: An optical disc (100) from which a plurality of pieces of information recorded along a track (9) by irradiating light that moves above the track relatively are reproduced in parallel. The optical disc has a disc substrate (1), and a recording layer (2) formed thereon. On the recording layer, a track is defined concentrically and two pit rows for carrying the plurality of pieces of information independently from each other are arranged along the track on the opposite sides thereof. At a specific position where the two pit rows are in a predetermined mutual relation and the plurality of pieces of information read out by irradiating light cannot be distinguished, at least one of two pit rows is shifted by a predetermined distance in the radial direction of the disc substrate by having the track as reference. Consequently, recording capacity can be increased relatively easily.
