    摘要: A persistent phosphor of formula I is provided, along with methods for making and using the phosphor: AxAlyO4:Euj, REk, Bm, Znn, Coo, Scp   I wherein: A is Ba, Sr, Ca, or a combination of these metals; x is greater than about 0.75 and less than about 1.3; y is greater than or equal to about 1.6 and less than or equal to 2; j is greater than about 0.0005 and less than about 0.1; k is greater than about 0.0005 and less than about 0.1; m is greater than or equal to 0 and less than about 0.30; n is greater than 0 and less than about 0.10; o is greater than 0 and less than about 0.01; p is greater than 0 and less than about 0.05; and RE is Dy, Nd, or a combination thereof. Applications for such phosphors include use in toys, emergency equipment, clothing, and instrument panels, among others.

    摘要: Compounds, phosphor materials and apparatus related to nacaphite family of materials are presented. Potassium and rubidium based nacaphite family compounds and phosphors designed by doping divalent rare earth elements in the sites of alkaline earth metals in the nacaphite material families are descried. An apparatus comprising the phosphors based on the nacaphite family materials are presented herein. The compounds presented is of formula A2B1-yRyPO4X where the elements A, B, R, X and suffix y are defined such that A is potassium, rubidium, or a combination of potassium and rubidium and B is calcium, strontium, barium, or a combination of any of calcium, strontium and barium. X is fluorine, chlorine, or a combination of fluorine and chlorine, R is europium, samarium, ytterbium, or a combination of any of europium, samarium, and ytterbium, and y ranges from 0 to about 0.1.

The oxynitride phosphor has a formula: ApBqOrNs: R such that A is barium or a combination of barium with at least one of Li, Na, K, Y, Sc, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb, and Lu; B is silicon or a combination of silicon with at least one of Al, B, Ga, and Ge; R is europium or a combination of europium with at least one of Ce, Pr, Sm, Nd, Tb, Dy, Yb, Tm, Er, Ho, and Mn. p, q, r, s are numbers such that p is greater than about 2 and less than about 6, q is greater than about 8 and less than about 10, r is greater than about 0.1 and less than about 6, and s is greater than about 10 and less than about 15. The method of preparing the oxynitride phosphors and light emitting apparatus including the oxynitride phosphors are included.

    摘要: A photoelectrolysis cell is described herein. The cell includes a photoelectrode based on a material having the general formula (Ln1−xMx)(Nb1−yTay)O1+xN2−x. Ln is at least one lanthanide element; M is at least one alkaline earth metal; 0≦x≦0.99; and 0≦y≦1. The photoelectrolysis cell further includes a counter-electrode formed from at least one metal or metallic alloy. An electrolyte which is in contact with both the photoelectrode and the counter-electrode is another component of the cell, along with a means for collecting hydrogen produced by the cell. A related process for producing hydrogen in a photoelectrolysis cell is also described.
