摘要: An additive manufacturing apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a build surface, at least a portion of which is transparent. The apparatus includes a first material depositor operable to deposit a curable resin to form a deposited resin layer on the build surface. A first sensing device is configured to measure the thickness of the deposited resin layer; and wherein the at least one sensing device is configured to generate a signal indicative of the thickness of the deposited resin layer. The first sensing device can be connected to a computer such that the additive manufacturing apparatus is configured to control the thickness of the deposited resin layer. The thickness of the deposited resin layer can be controlled such that it varies from side to side, i.e. across the width of the deposited resin layer in the transverse direction along the x-axis. The thickness can also be controlled such that it varies with time, i.e., in the machine direction along the y-axis.

摘要: A method of casting a truss structure having spaced face sheets connected by columnar structures, including forming a three-dimensional pattern (3D pattern) in the shape of the truss structure with the spaced face sheets and columnar structures, forming a mold core of the 3D pattern by surrounding the pattern with a liquid and letting the liquid harden about the 3D pattern, removing the 3D pattern from the mold core, filling the mold core with a liquid alloy to cast and directionally solidify the truss structure.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to a ceramic core comprising predominantly mullite, which is derived from a precursor comprising alumina particles and siloxane binders. Free silica is present in the ceramic body, but is largely unavailable for reaction with metal alloys used in investment casting. Methods of making cast metal articles are also disclosed.

摘要: A method is provided for repairing defects in a ceramic core adapted for use in a casting process. The ceramic core is formed from a slurry comprising at least one refractory powder material suspended in a liquid vehicle. The method includes forming a repair mixture comprising a liquid diluent and the at least one refractory powder material suspended in the liquid vehicle of the slurry. The repair mixture is applied to a region of the ceramic core that includes at least one defect and then the ceramic core is fired to burn off the liquid vehicle in the repair mixture and form a ceramic composition that closes the defect.

摘要: An additive manufacturing apparatus can include a stage configured to hold one or more cured layers of resin that form a component. A radiant energy device can be operable to generate and project radiant energy in a patterned image. An actuator can be configured to change a relative position of the stage relative to the radiant energy device. A reclamation system can be downstream of the stage and can be configured to remove at least a portion of the resin from a resin support. The reclamation system can include a first collection structure configured to accept a resin support along a resin support movement direction. A first scraper is positioned within the first collection structure. The first scraper has an elongation axis that is offset from the resin support movement direction by an offset angle that is less than 90 degrees.

摘要: Various embodiments provide a method of additively manufacturing a part including depositing a layer of a powder on a working surface, depositing a binder solution on the layer of the powder at first locations, and depositing a sintering aid solution on the layer of the powder at second locations. The sintering aid solution comprises a sintering aid in a solvent. In various embodiments, the sintering aid enables an increased brown strength as compared to parts containing unbound powder. The method enables binders that provide high green strength to be used at the edges of the part, while also balancing a shortened debind time with an increased brown strength. Embodiments in which binder solution is deposited according to a predetermined pattern at second locations are also described.
