Abstract: Systems and methods for UE state machine to support multiple services or air interfaces are described. The UE may have one configuration of the state machine for multiple services or air interfaces. The UE may have multiple state machines for different services or air interfaces that work independently. The UE may have multiple state machines for different services or air interfaces that work collaboratively. The UE may have a state machine that uses a state machine configuration selected out of a plurality of state machine configurations according to the services used. The configuration of this state machine may be adapted to services. At initialization, the configuration of this state machine may be default or be determined according to the services the UE may use. During operation, the configuration of this state machine may change according to the change in services for the UE.

Abstract: A demodulation reference signal (DMRS) indicating method, a DMRS receiving method, and an apparatus are described. A transmit end determines, from a plurality of groups of demodulation reference signal DMRS configuration information, DMRS configuration information corresponding to a current DMRS transmission scheme. The transmit end obtains DMRS indication information based on the DMRS configuration information, where each group of DMRS configuration information includes a plurality of pieces of DMRSs configuration information. The transmit end sends the DMRS indication information. The described method and the apparatus are implemented to match a plurality of New Radio (NR) scenarios. The described operations can satisfy a requirement for transmitting more layers of data and reduce indication overheads.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an uplink data transmission method, a terminal device, and a network device. The method includes: sending, by a terminal device to a network device, information used to request a grant-free transmission resource; receiving, by the terminal device, resource indication information sent by the network device, where the resource indication information is used to indicate a grant-free transmission resource that is allocated by the network device to the terminal device according to the information used to request the grant-free transmission resource; and determining, by the terminal device according to the resource indication information, the transmission resource used for performing grant-free transmission. According to the uplink data transmission method, the terminal device, and the network device in embodiments of the present invention, contention-based uplink data transmission can be implemented, and data transmission efficiency of a system can be improved.

Abstract: Signal processing complexity in fifth generation (5G) networks can be reduced by communicating wireless signals over self-contained partitions of a carrier such that the wireless transmission communicated over each self-contained partition of the carrier includes all physical control channel signaling required to decode data carried in a physical data channel of the partition. The control signaling may include resource assignment within the partition, modulation and coding scheme indication, reference signal configuration and retransmission information. In some embodiments, an anchor partition of a carrier is used to communicate initial access information for self-contained partitions of the carrier. The initial access information may include center-frequencies, bandwidths, and/or air interface configurations of the self-contained partitions. The anchor partition may also carry load indications associated with the self-contained partitions.

Abstract: It is possible to reduce overhead when dynamically establishing an air interface configuration by communicating a modification instruction along with an index associated with a predefine air interface configuration. The modification instruction identifies a modification to one or more parameters of the predefined air interface configuration associated with the index. Together, the index and the modification indication specify a modified air interface configuration that is different than any of the candidate air interface configurations predefined for the network. The modification instruction allows networks to achieve similar degrees of flexibility while using substantially fewer predefined air interface configurations, which in turn permits the index associated with the selected air interface configuration to be signaled using fewer bits.
