Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities (e.g. aspects of entities, interfaces and procedures in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and/or network layers LI, L2, 13) are disclosed for low latency medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) assembly in wireless systems, such as 5G flexible radio access technology (RAT) (5gFLEX). Latency may be reduced, for example, by WTRU determination of network transmission parameters and signaling prior to a transmission grant. A WTRU may receive a modulation and coding scheme (MCS), resource range, etc. prior to a grant, e.g., for use in future grants. Data blocks may be incrementally created/encoded prior to a grant. Data units may be segmented, assembled and multiplexed, for example, based on data block sizes that allow MAC and radio link control (RLC) processing prior to a grant. Flexible grant sizes may be provided for early generation of transport blocks before a grant. A minimum guaranteed transport block size (TBS) may be signaled to permit early generation of a MAC PDU. Transmission parameters may be selected prior to a grant, for example, using blind decoding or a DCI reception procedure.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive configuration information indicating a first and a second cell group, and indicating discontinuous reception (DRX) information for them; and may receive a command associated with DRX. The WTRU may perform, based on the command, DRX for cells of the first and second cell groups. A first active time for the first cell group may differ from a second active time for the second cell group. Cells within the first cell group may be active during the first active time; cells within the second cell group may be active during the second. The WTRU may receive a first command to deactivate a first cell of the first cell group, and deactivate the cell based on the first command. The WTRU may receive a first command to reactivate the deactivated first cell, and reactivate the deactivated first cell based on the first command to reactivate.

Abstract: A method for WTRU autonomous resource selection may comprise receiving a TX resource pool for D2D communication from a base station. The WTRU may sense one or more resources of the TX resource pool and determine resources for transmission of control information and D2D data, based on the sensing. The WTRU may then transmit, to another WTRU, the control information and the D2D data on the determined resources.

The WTRU may select an SA resource and/or D2D data resources (e.g., from the set of allowed SA resources and/or D2D data resources) for transmission. The WTRU may select one or more transmission parameters. The WTRU may select one or more transmission patterns. The WTRU may transmit D2D data over the set of allowed D2D resources using the selected transmission patterns and according to the selected transmission parameters.

A transmission power level for an uplink signal may be determined, where a transmit diversity offset value from the list is utilized to determine the transmission power level based on a format of the uplink signal. Abstract: Wireless transmission may include using multiple uplink carriers. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit via a primary uplink carrier data, pilot and control channels for uplink transmissions on both uplink carriers, and transmit a data channel and a pilot channel via a secondary uplink carrier. Alternatively, the WTRU may transmit via a primary uplink carrier data, pilot, and control channels for uplink transmission on the primary uplink carrier, and transmit via a secondary uplink carrier data, pilot, and control channels for uplink transmissions on the secondary uplink carrier. Each uplink carrier may be associated with at least one specific downlink carrier such that the WTRU applies control information received on a downlink carrier to uplink transmissions on an uplink carrier associated with the downlink carrier on which the WTRU receives the control information.
