Abstract: A method for reporting power headroom is disclosed. Power headroom may be reported across all carriers (wideband), for a specific carrier, or for a carrier group. The formula used to calculate the power headroom depends on whether the carrier (or a carrier in the carrier group) has a valid uplink grant. If the carrier or carrier group does not have a valid uplink grant, the power headroom may be calculated based on a reference grant. The power headroom is calculated by a wireless transmit/receive unit and is reported to an eNodeB.

Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) is configured to receive a reference signal of a first type. The first type is other than a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS). Reference signals of the first type are received in resource elements other than resource elements used for a primary synchronization signal or a secondary synchronization signal. The WTRU is configured to receive a radio resource control message indicating a subframe position in which the reference signal of the first type is transmitted and a periodicity of a transmission of the reference signal of the first type.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting using beam are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit a first physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble to a base station using a first beam at a first power level. The WTRU may receive an indication that the first PRACH preamble was received by the base station. If the indication was received, the WTRU may transmit data. If the indication was not received, the WTRU may select the first beam or a second beam to use for a second PRACH preamble. Further, the first and second beams may be different beams. If the first beam is selected, the WTRU may increase a transmission power level of the second PRACH preamble by a first power ramp step. If the second beam is selected, the WTRU may not increase the transmission power level of the second PRACH preamble by the first power ramp step.

Abstract: A method for balancing load on a network may comprise determining that a first AP serving traffic on a 5 Ghz frequency band is within range of a STA. The STA may receive, from the first AP, a first allowed traffic bitmap indicating first allowed traffic, wherein the first allowed traffic bitmap indicates whether AC_VO frames, AC_VI frames and at least one other frame type is allowed by the first AP. The STA may receive a second allowed traffic bitmap concerning a second AP. The STA may also receive, from the first AP, access control information of the second AP. The STA may transmit an association request to a selected one of the first AP or second AP, based on the received first allowed traffic bitmap, the received second allowed traffic bitmap and the access control information. Once associated, traffic may flow between the selected AP and the STA.

In such a method, the following steps may take place: initiating active scanning on at least one of a plurality of channels; waiting to transmit a first probe request on a first channel of the plurality of channels based on a delay timer; receiving at the first STA, while the delay timer is not expired, a probe request from a second STA; and skipping the first probe request on the first channel of the plurality of channels based on information contained in the received probe request from the second STA.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to determine rank, offset, or inter-stream interference control information, for example, which may be associated with uplink MIMO operations. A method to control a WTRU may include receiving a special E-RNTI that is associated with a channel. The channel may be associated with a rank indication. The channel may be an E-AGCH-like channel. The channel may have a similar encoding structure as an E-AGCH. The channel may be an E-ROCH. The channel may be received, and it may be determined that the channel is associated with the special E-RNTI. At least one of a rank or an offset may be determined, and the WTRU may be configured with the determined rank or offset. An inter-stream interference (ISI) offset may be received, for example, via RRC signaling, and may be applied to an uplink transmission of a primary stream.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus may perform dual-band or multi-band mesh operations. A dual-band mesh station (MSTA) capable of operating in an O-band and a D-band may seek to join a mesh network, and may receive O-band beacons from at least one MSTA in the mesh network, where the O-band beacons may include D-band mesh information. The joining MSTA may transmit D-band beacons in a time-period specified by the O-band beacon, and on a condition that a beacon response message is received, may further transmit D-band association information via O-band management frames to join mesh network on the D-band. The joining MSTA may perform contention-free scheduled access in the D-band while sharing D-band transmission information in the O-band to enable concurrent communication in the D-band by neighboring multi-band MSTAs.
