Abstract: Sub-band (SB) indications and listen-before-talk (LBT) outcomes may be used to adjust communications between devices such as wireless terminals and base stations. For example, a wireless terminal may receive SB indications including SB configurations and/or LBT outcomes of a base station, and other information such as a remapped CORESET. Similarly, a terminal may determine that a physical resource block (PRB) is invalid based at least in part on whether the PRB overlaps with a guard band. The terminal may be arranged to adjust its searches and transmissions based on received SB indications, and to provide the base station with LBT outcomes of the terminal.

The processor configured to generate the MU-MIMO downlink transmission including: allocating a first set of the REs, as first resources, to the first spatial layer for the first WTRU, and a second set of the REs, as second resources, to the second spatial layer for the second WTRU, mapping a first WTRU-specific reference signal (RS) associated with the first WTRU on a subset of the first resources, and a second WTRU-specific RS associated with the second WTRU on a subset of the second resources, muting allocated REs of the first resources overlapping with the subset of the second resources used for the second WTRU-specific RS, and allocated REs of the second resources overlapping with the subset of the first resources used for the first WTRU-specific RS. The transmitter configured to send the MU-MIMO downlink transmission.

Abstract: Systems and method are specified to improve the reception of UL transmission, for example in power or coverage limited situations. A WTRU may modify procedures to increase the available signal energy for reception at an eNB and/or to make more efficient use of the available signal energy at the receiver for processing UL transmissions. Example methods for increasing UL link coverage may include modifying HARQ timing (e.g., shorter HARQ), using longer TTIs, use of dedicated PUSCH allocations, use of new PUSCH modulations, enhanced reference signal design, UL macro diversity reception for PUSCH, utilizing protocol reduction techniques, ensuring in-order packet delivery, and/or utilizing a configuration for coverage limited/power limited modes of operation. The proposed methods may be applied individually or in any combination.

Abstract: Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes may be transmitted via configured grants as well as scheduled grants. The configured grants may include time and frequency resources, and transmissions may occur across contiguous transmissions. HARQ process information, such as HARQ IDs and redundancy versions, may be communicated via a control channel, and the control channel may be multiplexed with the transmission resources of the configured grants. Retransmission timers may be used for HARQ processes conveyed via configured grants, and the transmitting apparatus may signal to a receiver when to send an acknowledgement. An acknowledgement may take the form of bitmaps for code block groups of a HARQ. A configured grant may be selected from among multiple configured grants based upon low latency, for example. A group of configured grants may be activated or deactivated via a single command.

Abstract: Layer 2 structures and procedures may be used for beam management in new radio networks. In a first example, a new radio layer 2 structure may be used to facilitate beam management at the medium access control sublayer. In a second example, new radio feedback mechanisms may be signaled between peer medium access control entities and used to assist with beam management. In a third example, new radio beam management procedures may include new radio beam training, new radio beam alignment, new radio beam tracking, or new radio beam configuration. In a fourth example, new radio connection control procedure may include new radio initial access or new radio mobility management.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described herein for beamforming based initial access, beam management, and beam based mobility designs for NR systems. Issues are identified and addressed related to one or more of initial access, control channel design, eMBB and URLLC mixing, and beam training.
