    摘要: The invention relates to a transflective liquid crystal display and a method of manufacturing the same and provides a transflective liquid crystal display which can achieve high display characteristics in both of reflective and transmissive modes and a method of manufacturing the same. The display has a pair of substrates provided opposite to each other, a liquid crystal sealed between the pair of substrates, a plurality of pixel regions each having a reflective area which reflects light from the side of one of the substrates and a transmissive area which transmits light from the side of the other of the substrates toward the one of the substrates, and an ultraviolet-hardened material which is a product of polymerization of a polymeric component mixed in the liquid crystal with ultraviolet light and which is formed at a substrate interface in the reflective area to control the alignment of the liquid crystal in the reflective area.

    摘要: This liquid crystal display device comprises electrodes that are formed on at least one of a pair of substrates, and are used for applying voltage onto liquid crystal molecules; a first alignment control layer that is sandwiched between the substrates, and makes the liquid crystal molecules aligned vertically; a liquid crystal layer formed by sandwiching a liquid crystal composition comprising a liquid crystal and a photopolymerizable compound between the substrates, followed by ultraviolet ray irradiation; and a second alignment control layer composed of a UV-cured product formed by the ultraviolet ray irradiation that is formed so that not less than two domains having different threshold voltages are present in a pixel, and at least one of the domains has a threshold voltage higher than the threshold voltage by the first alignment control layer. Liquid crystal display devices having good half-tone viewing angle characteristics are provided.

    摘要: A loop track for racing objects is disposed at the center of a race game device, for example for a simulated horse race. A plurality of racing objects, such as race horses, run on the track. The X- and Y-directional positions of the race horses are detected by a separable position detecting means underlying the track. The separable position detecting means allows for easier maintenance, transport, assembly, and disassembly of the device. Information regarding the positions of the horses is displayed on a game screen. Players can write memos to themselves on individual game screens by pressing a trace over the game information on the game screen. A control unit provides game information corresponding to other races other than a current race, including future races, and players may select information corresponding to future races on the individual game screen.

The first alignment film and/or the second alignment film have weaker vertical alignment restrictiveness in a region where the projection is formed than that in a region where the projection is not formed.
