Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transferring from a broadcaster to a receiver a limited reproduction right in data. A signal indicating the limited reproduction right is transmitted by the broadcaster and stored by the receiver with the data. The receiver reproduces and processes the data as a function of this signal.
Abstract:
Cold rolled steel sheets having improved bake hardenability is provided. Specifically, the present invention relates to a cold rolled steel sheet, with improved bake hardenability, comprising an ultra low carbon steel containing titanium and/or niobium, wherein the relationship between the contents of carbon and molybdenum in solid solution being regulated in a specified range, and a cold rolled steel sheet, with improved bake hardenability, which further contains a specified amount of boron in addition to the above constituents.
Abstract:
A stand-alone video receiver, having a simplified user interface and control system, is connected to a video recording and reproducing apparatus (recorder), having a more complex user interface and control system, and both the receiver and the recorder are controlled through the complex user interface and control system of the recorder while the user interface and control system of the receiver are disabled.
Abstract:
A refrigerating apparatus employs a mixture of coolants and a coolant controller for controlling a ratio between the coolants to adjust refrigerating capacity during a refrigerating operation. The apparatus has a compressor whose revolution speed is controlled to provide required refrigerating capacity. When the revolution speed of the compressor decreases below a lower set value or rises above an upper set value, the coolant controller controls the ratio between the coolants.
Abstract:
A video data communication system and method are disclosed which provides for the secure transmission of video data among devices connected to a video data bus. The video data is transmitted with address information corresponding to a particular device or, alternatively, video data is encrypted and transmitted on the data bus without address information.
Abstract:
An air conditioner employs a refrigerating cycle in which a non-azeotropic mixture of high and low boiling coolants is sealed. The ratio between the high and low boiling coolants of the coolant mixture changes according to a change in the opening of an electric expansion valve 7. A level sensor 19 is arranged in an accumulator 17 that accumulates the liquid phase of the coolant mixture. A value detected by the level sensor is used to calculate the ratio between the high and low boiling coolants actually circulating in the refrigerating cycle. According to the opening of the valve 7 or the ratio between the actual quantities of the high and low boiling coolants, basic operation parameters such as the operation frequency of a compressor 1 are changed. This results in stabilizing and optimizing the operation of the refrigerating cycle even if a cycle temperature or pressure is changed due to a change in the ratio between the high and low boiling coolants of the coolant mixture.
Abstract:
An electric fan having a rotary grille provided with a plurality of inclined grille plates and a small-sized reversibly rotatable synchronous electric motor adapted to rotatively drive the rotary grille. A plurality of pairs of projections are formed on a peripheral portion of the rotary grille at different distances from the center of the rotary grille and at different angular intervals. A slidable stopper is mounted on the frame of the electric fan. The stopper is adjustably positionable so as to enable engagement with selected one of the pairs of projections or to a position where it does not contact the projections, so that the rotary grille is reciprocatingly rotated within an angular range limited by the projections or rotated continuously in one direction to vary the area or region of application of an air flow.
Abstract:
A steam turbine plant of one embodiment includes at least one heater configured to change water into steam to produce high pressure steam and low pressure steam having a lower pressure than the high pressure steam, a high pressure turbine including a turbine or turbines connected to each other in series, and having a first inlet to supply the high pressure steam, a second inlet to supply the low pressure steam and located at a downstream of the first inlet, and an exhaust port located at a downstream of the second inlet, the high pressure turbine being configured to be driven by the steam supplied from the first and second inlets, a reheater configured to heat the steam exhausted from the exhaust port, and a reheat turbine configured to be driven by the steam from the reheater.
Abstract:
An ultrasonic generation element provides a primary resonance portion existing in an ultrasonic frequency band, and is caused to perform only a notice sound generation by parametric speaker. An audible-sound generation piezoelectric speaker provides a primary resonance portion existing in an audible frequency band, and is caused to switch between a notice sound generation by dynamic speaker and a notice sound generation by parametric speaker, based on vehicular information. Under a predetermined low vehicle speed, a notice sound is generated in both (i) an area ahead of a vehicle and distant from the vehicle, and (ii) an area surrounding the vehicle. When the vehicle speed increases, a notice sound is generated at a position ahead of the vehicle and more distant from the vehicle.
Abstract:
A touch panel is constructed by a display/sensor unit which is slightly larger than a display screen of an LCD and a sensor unit which is projected to the outside from one side, for example, from one side on the right. A finger of the user is touched to a selection item such as desired button, icon, or the like on the display/sensor unit and vertically moved on the sensor unit. A selection display constructed by a plurality of buttons is displayed along the side of the display screen by the LCD. A button beside the finger is highlighted. When the finger is released, the highlighted button is selected. If there are no buttons adjacent to the finger, the button is not highlighted. Even if the finger is released, the state is not changed. When finger is moved to the display/sensor unit, the selection display disappears.
