    摘要: A method of providing for the transfer of an IP flow when a client is handed over from a first to a second radio layer node of a cellular communications network. The method comprises establishing said IP flow between a client and an application of a local service network within or connected to said first radio layer node, and sending said IP flow over a radio access bearer extending between the client and the first radio layer node, and maintaining within a mobility database a mapping between an identifier of the client, an IP address of said application, and an IP address of said local service network. Prior to or upon handover of the client from said first radio layer node to the second radio layer node, a request including the client identifier is sent from said second to said first radio layer node or to another node if the central mobility database is maintained in that other node. The client identifier contained in said request is used at said first radio layer node or said other node to identify said mapping in the mobility database, and the application and local service network IP addresses are sent from said first radio layer node or said other node, to said second radio layer node. The application and local service network IP addresses are received at said second radio layer node, and the received local service network IP address are used at said second radio layer node to establish a tunnel between the second radio layer node and said local service network. Said IP flow is switched from said radio access bearer to said tunnel for delivery to the client via said second radio layer node.

The radio network controller includes an interface configured to receive a DNS query from a mobile terminal and a domain name system, DNS, interceptor module. The DNS interceptor module is configured to intercept the DNS query from the mobile terminal, detect the indication of the content originator server or the content delivery provider, check the indication against a list of domain names handled by the radio network controller, and generate a DNS reply in response to the DNS query, the DNS reply including an IP address of a content server associated with the radio network controller and not including an IP address of the content delivery provider. The interface is configured to send the DNS reply to the mobile terminal.

    摘要: A method for optimising the distribution of data objects between caches in a cache domain of a resource limited network. User requests for data objects are received at caches in the cache domain. A notification is sent from each cache at which a request received to a cache manager. The notification reports the user request and identifies the requested data object. At the cache manager, object information including the request frequency of each requested data object and the locations of the caches at which the requests were received are collated and stored, and objects for distribution within the cache domain are identified on the basis of the object information. Instructions are sent from the cache manager to the caches to distribute data objects stored in those caches between themselves. The data objects are distributed between the caches using transmission capacity of the network that would otherwise be unused.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for handing over a terminal connection. A handover request is sent from a source base station to a target base station. A first control message is also sent from the source base station to a control server, the first control message including a session identifier for identifying the session, and current parameters for the session. If the target base station is associated with a cache storage unit containing the content data, a second control message is sent from the control server to the target base station, the second control message including a content identifier, the session identifier and the current parameters. At the target base station, the content data packets are retrieved from the cache storage unit, and a header of each retrieved content data packet is populated with parameters calculated using the received current parameters and session identifier. The content data packets are then sent from the base station towards the terminal.

    摘要: In the area of network provisioning, there is a problem of selecting a suitable traffic-provisioning model for large networks due to the high management complexity of the resource-efficient trunk model and the poor bandwidth efficiency of the easy-to-configure hose model. The invention is based on the idea of partitioning at least part of the network into multi-node clusters, and defining traffic limitations on at least two levels, including the intra-cluster level and the inter-cluster level, where the traffic limitations include one or more node-to-cluster traffic limitations for inter-cluster traffic. Subsequently, cluster-based provisioning of the network is performed based on the traffic limitations. The novel node-to-cluster limitations proposed by the invention are preferably applied in a cluster-based trunk or hose model on the inter-cluster level. In other words, for the description of the inter-cluster traffic (traffic between the clusters) cluster-based trunk or hose models can be used, preferably depending on the available information about the traffic. The cluster-based provisioning makes it possible to find a trade-off between management complexity and overprovisioning.
