    摘要: A method of estimation of harmonic distortion level for a radio receiver operative in a cellular communication system enabled to receive signals from transmitters of one or more cells is disclosed. The method comprises measuring, within a bandwidth of operation, a total received signal power; measuring, within the bandwidth of operation, a received signal power of signals received from the one or more cells, respectively; and estimating a level of harmonic receiver distortions by: determining whether a fraction of the total received signal power and a theoretical noise floor is below or above a first threshold; or determining whether a remaining part of the total received signal power, said remaining part not including said fraction, is above or below a second threshold. A such radio receiver, and a computer program for implementing the method are also disclosed.

In unicast signaling mode, the radio network controller is operable to send radio resource control signals to a mobile station through a serving cell. The radio network controller is operable to go into bi-cast signaling mode during a hard handover. In the bi-cast signaling mode, the radio network controller is operable to send radio resource control messages to the mobile station through both the current serving cell and a target cell. The mobile station is configured to listen to both the current serving cell and the target cell for radio resource control messages. User data, however, is transmitted only from the current serving cell to the mobile station.

    摘要: In one embodiment, a method of scheduling transmissions for a base station in a multi-carrier wireless communication network comprises scheduling initial transmissions of data packets for one or more users on a first carrier, without reserving scheduling capacity on the first carrier for retransmissions. Doing so increases the scheduled capacity of the first carrier for initial transmissions. The method further includes scheduling retransmissions, as needed, for given ones of the data packets on one or more second carriers. The method allows more traffic to be scheduled on the first carrier, meaning that multi-carrier transmissions are less frequently needed to convey all of the traffic targeted to one or more receivers. Those receivers therefore spend more time operating with a reduced receiver bandwidth (as compared to the bandwidth required for receiving more than one carrier), which reduces operating power.
