摘要: Novel superconducting oxide compositions of the formulas (YBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3.25).sub.a O.sub.z and Y.sub.2 Ba.sub.4 Cu.sub.8 O.sub.20-x (248) are provided which can have an ordered defect structure stacked on one axis. MiThis invention was made with Government support under contracts DMR-8616055 awarded by the National Science Foundation and F49620-88C-0004 awarded by the United States Air Force. The Government has certain rights in this invention.

摘要: A superlattice comprising alternating layers of undoped GaAs and silicon doped Al.sub.0.3 Ga.sub.0.7 As is used as a magnetoresistor for measuring magnet fields in excess of one Tesla. The magnetic field to be measured is passed vertically through the superlattice and current from a source of constant current is flowed vertically through the resulting superlattice and the voltage drop across the superlattice is measured to provide an indication of the strength of the magnetic field.

摘要: A detachable mounting post to permit a user to remove or reattach a telescopic sight without having to realign the sight with the rifle. The mounting post includes an axial displaceable stirrup that can be moved along the axis of a mounting post by the coaction of a threaded anvil having cam surfaces that engage mating cam surfaces on the stirrup as a user rotates a longitudinally fixedly mounted screw to pull or push the anvil in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the mounting post which causes balls located in the mounting post to center the mounting post both vertically and concentrically within a mounting socket located in a mounting block on a rifle.
