摘要: A detachable mounting post to permit a user to remove or reattach a telescopic sight without having to realign the sight with the rifle. The mounting post includes an axial displaceable stirrup that can be moved along the axis of a mounting post by the coaction of a threaded anvil having cam surfaces that engage mating cam surfaces on the stirrup as a user rotates a longitudinally fixedly mounted screw to pull or push the anvil in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the mounting post which causes balls located in the mounting post to center the mounting post both vertically and concentrically within a mounting socket located in a mounting block on a rifle.

摘要: A surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor includes a transducer (240 provided on a substrate (23), wherein the transducer (24) is oriented on the substrate (23) so that the direction of acoustic wave propagation is such that the variation of sensor output with temperature, associated with the variation of the substrate third-elastic constants with temperature, substantially equal but opposite to the sum total of the variation of sensor output with temperature associated with the substrate linear temperature coefficient of expansion and with the variations with temperature of the substrate non-zero third order elastic constants, the substrate first-order elastic constants and the substrate density. The effect of temperature variation on sensor output is thereby minimized. This is achieved with a 35-degree arrangement or with reflective gratings inclined at an angle of 3.1 degrees to normal. Additionally, a robust package with a dish is given. Particular applications include the measurement of torque.

摘要: A system and method for inspecting a structure are provided. The system includes at least one non-destructive inspection (“NDI”) sensor capable of acquiring data indicative of at least a portion of the structure, and at least one positional sensor for acquiring positional data of the NDI sensor. The system also includes a mechanism operable to trigger the NDI sensor and/or the positional sensor to acquire data such that data indicative of the structure and the positional data are acquired at approximately the same time. The system further includes a movable arm carrying the sensors and movably attached to a base. The system includes a data acquisition system capable of communicating with the sensors such that the data acquisition system generates information indicative of at least a portion of the structure based on the data acquired by the sensors.

摘要: A pressure monitor has a base and a lid secured to the base to define a substantially fluid tight chamber. At least part of the lid is flexible and forms a diaphragm which deflects responsive to changes in fluid pressure surrounding the monitor. A projection provided on the diaphragm transmits movement thereof to a distortable substrate located within the chamber. A first SAW device is mounted on the distortable substrate, and at least a second and third SAW device are mounted within the chamber. The second SAW device carried on a reference substrate section has its direction of propagation inclined at an angle to the direction of propagation of at least one of the first and third SAW devices. This way movement of the diaphragm induced by a change in pressure in the zone surrounding the monitor results in distortion of the distortable substrate, which is measurable by the SAW device mounted thereon, without distorting said reference substrate section.

摘要: An improved headrest with adjustable connecting tubes is disclosed. The improved headrest comprises a main body, two connecting tubes, a socket unit and several pairs of intermediate connecting tubes. A plurality of threaded insertion holes are provided on the lower side of the main body, and the two connecting tubes may be inserted into these holes. The threaded insertion holes are spaced apart. The rectangular holes allow the adjustment in the distance between the two connecting tubes. The intermediate connecting tubes have several different diameters so that the intermediate connecting tubes may be connected with the bolts provided on the backrests of a seat for different models of automobiles. Hence, by adjusting the distance between the connecting tubes and selecting intermediate connecting tubes with a suitable diameter, the main body may be connected to the backrest of a seat for different models and makes of automobiles.

摘要: The present invention is an improved electro-optical device comprising a substrate-supported layer of electro-optical material disposed between upper and lower electrodes. Conventional practice has been to make the electrodes thick to minimize electrical loss. Applicants, in contrast, have discovered that the performance of the device can be improved by making the electrodes thin—typically about 2 microns or less and preferably about 0.5 micron or less. While the thin electrodes take a relatively large loss penalty at low frequencies, at higher frequencies the thin electrodes provide a relatively low loss, thus producing a flattened frequency response as compared with thick electrode devices. The device can maintain a wide operating bandwidth at frequencies of interest for optical transmission while reducing the required drive voltage.
