摘要: A light emitting device (1) is configured to radiate light with an optical axis A at the center, and is provided with a light source (2), and a lens (3) that radially expands the light from light source (2). The light source (2) has a light emitting surface (21) extending in an X direction orthogonal to the optical axis A. The lens (3) is configured to have a greater refractive power in a Y direction orthogonal to the X direction than in the X direction. For example, the lens (3) has a light entrance surface (31) including an anamorphic curved surface with different curve forms between the X direction and the Y direction.

摘要: A backlight apparatus is provided that enables a balance of brightness to be maintained over the entire area of a display screen and long life to be achieved. The surface of substrate 130 is opposite the rear surface of liquid crystal panel 110. LEDs 140 are placed on the surface of substrate 130. LED drive circuits 150 supply LEDs 140 with a current that causes LEDs 140 to emit light that illuminates liquid crystal panel 110. LED drive circuits 150 supply a lower current to LEDs 140 placed in an area having a higher ambient temperature within the surface area of substrate 130.

摘要: The present invention relates to an optical element and, more particularly relates to an optical element having at least one surface in which an antireflection concave-convex structure is formed. The present invention provides an optical member in which the generation of diffraction light and reflection is sufficiently suppressed and which has a structure that can be formed in a simple manner. On a first lens surface (10) of a lens 1, an antireflection concave-convex structure (11) including a plurality of cone convex portions (12) regularly arranged is formed. The antireflection concave-convex structure (11) is for suppressing reflection of light having a wavelength equal to or larger than a cycle of the cone convex portions (12). The antireflection concave-convex structure (11) is formed so that the cycle and/or a height of the structure units differ among regions of the first surface (10).

摘要: An image reading device comprising a rotary polygon mirror (6) for scanning a light flux from a light source (1), an imaging optical system (4) for forming on a reflection plane of the mirror (6) a linear image larger than the width in a main scanning direction of the one reflection plane, and a curved-face mirror (7), wherein the light source (1), the imaging optical system (4), the rotary polygon mirror (6) and the curved-face mirror (7) are disposed in different positions in a sub-scanning direction, a light flux from the imaging optical system (4) shines obliquely onto the polygon mirror (6), and a light flux reflected off the mirror (6) beams obliquely onto the curved-face mirror (7). Since one curved-face mirror can beam a light flux reflected from the rotary polygon mirror onto a surface to be scanned and the rotary polygon mirror having a small inscribed radius and many reflection planes can be used, satisfactory optical performance and high-speed feature can be realized.

摘要: By a first image forming optical system (42a to 42d), a plurality of light beams from light sources (41a to 41d) form linear images on a common deflecting surface (46) of an optical deflector (44). Light beams reflected off the optical deflector (44) are reflected by a plurality of curved surface mirrors (45a to 45d) and are allowed to scan over photosensitive members (4a to 4d), respectively. The plurality of curved surface mirrors (45a to 45d) are disposed on the same side with respect to a plane that includes a normal line at a center of the deflecting surface (46) and is parallel to a main scanning direction. Further, curved surfaces of the plurality of curved surface mirrors (45a to 45d) vary in shape. Thus, a tandem type color image forming apparatus that achieves low cost and has excellent optical performance and an optical scanning device that is used favorably in the color image forming apparatus can be provided.

摘要: In treatment of water by injection of ozone into the water for removal of harmful matters, odor matters, and color matters therein, either or both of a nonyl phenol and a cresol are added to the water to be treated. The nonyl phenol is added together with a lower alcohol or acetone to the water to be treated. The cresol is added together with a lower alcohol or acetone to the water to be treated. A p-nonyl phenol is added as the nonyl phenol for treatment. As the cresol for addition, a p-cresol is added. As the nonyl phenol for addition, a nonyl phenol is used such that two molecular weights of 220 and 107 are detected when measured by either or both of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. By the above treatment, the decomposition reaction of ozone can be accelerated, and thereby it becomes possible to accelerate the oxidative decomposition reaction of organic matters, the amount of ozone required for the decomposition of harmful matters can be reduced with the decomposition time. The decomposition rate of organic matters can be accelerated by addition of a nonyl phenol or a cresol. Accordingly, when the process for accelerating the reaction of ozone is applied in water treatment, the treatment rate of water can be enhanced. The treatment volume per time of water can be enhanced, whereby the site area for water treatment facilities can be reduced even in the event that the capacity of a reaction tank is reduced.
