    Abstract: Method, device and computer readable medium are disclosed for supporting satellite access. The registration management entity of the network determines information regarding which beam covering the location of the terminal device and the corresponding timing; the terminal device triggers a registration update based on the information determined by the registration management entity. Thus, the method, device and computer readable medium can introduce less modification to the network and have good compatibility.

In the context of a method, the method receives, from a first network node via a source satellite, a system information block, wherein the system information block indicates a random access channel opportunity window in which the user equipment should access the first network node or a second network node. The method includes determining, based on the system information block, an access time within the random access channel opportunity window. The message(s) are transmitted over the geostationary system. A UE searches for a PLMN. The UE, in response to finding a PLMN transmitting, using a geostationary system, message(s) including coverage information for non-geo stationary satellite(s) in an NTN, receives the message(s). The UE updates preferences used for a list used for PLMN selection to make PLMN(s) corresponding to the coverage information as higher priority than other PLMN(s) in the list. The UE performs cell search(es) for cells from the non-geo stationary satellite(s) using the updated list.

    Abstract: A UE, connected using a current cell served by a first satellite to a BS, receives information from the BS including assistance information for a cell switch from the current cell to a cell served by a second satellite. The information is received before a stop time indicating when the current cell will stop serving the UE. The UE performs the cell switch from the current cell to the cell served by the second satellite using at least the assistance information to find cell synchronization block(s) for the served by the second satellite. The BS sends the information from the BS including the assistance information for a cell switch from the current cell to a cell served by a second satellite. The BS shuts down the current cell at a stop time.

    Abstract: Various example embodiments relate to provision of a positioning time gap in a paging procedure. An apparatus may obtain positioning capability information of a device. The positioning capability information may comprise an indication of a first time period for determining a position of the device with first initial positioning data and an indication of a second time period for determining the position of the device with second initial positioning data. A positioning time gap may be determined based on the positioning capability information of the device. The apparatus may transmit a first signal, but refrain from transmitting a second signal for at least a duration of the positioning time gap from the first signal.
