The display device includes: a data line drive circuit for outputting emission control signals for controlling light emission of display elements during a retrace period during which display signal voltages are not output; and an emission power supply circuit for supplying power supply voltages for the light emission of the display elements to power supply lines from at least one of external sides of a display region corresponding to a group including the display elements. The data line drive circuit generates and outputs the emission control signals different among data lines.

    摘要: An organic electroluminescence display device is provided having a display section including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix; and a detection section for detecting a luminance characteristic of an OLED element in each of the pixels. The detection section includes a first path for allowing a detected characteristic value to pass therethrough and a second path for attenuating the detected characteristic value. A first switch is provided for the first path whereas a second switch is provided for the second path, the second switch being opened when the first switch is closed. The detected characteristic value having passed through any one of the first path and the second path is input to a same analog-to-digital converter to be converted into a digital quantity.

    摘要: Before a reset operation in which a threshold voltage Vth of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) driving thin film transistor (TFT) is compensated is performed by a first reset TFT switch, a second reset TFT switch is turned on to apply a reset reference potential to a gate of the OLED driving TFT. Accordingly, an operation point of the OLED driving TFT can be stably set even when a power supply is low. In the reset operation, it is unnecessary to close a lighting TFT switch and cause an OLED element to emit light, whereby constant can be improved.

One horizontal period is divided into a signal write-in period and a triangular wave period, so that the signal voltage and the triangular wave are outputted during the signal write-in period and the triangular wave period, respectively. Different triangular waves are selected and outputted for each signal line, so that the location of the shift in the outline in a moving image changes for each column.

    摘要: The present invention allows an organic EL display device to perform display with high definition by reducing an area of each pixel forming a display region of the display device. A drive TFT for driving an organic EL element, a storage capacitance connected with a gate of the drive TFT, and a switching TFT connected to a scanning line are used in common by pixels arranged adjacent to each other in the lateral direction and hence, areas occupied by these circuit elements per one pixel can be reduced whereby the pixel can be made small. Further, a data line for supplying a video signal and a power source line for supplying an electric current to the organic EL elements can be used in common by the pixels arranged adjacent to each other and hence, the number of data lines and the number of power source lines can be halved thus reducing an area of the pixel. Due to such a constitution, the present invention acquires an organic EL display device capable of performing display with high definition.
