Abstract: A method for calibrating timing errors to improve positioning accuracy includes receiving, from a network element, calibration configuration information for communicating at least one positioning reference signal; communicating, during a positioning session and on the basis of the received calibration configuration information, a first positioning reference signal according to a first positioning reference signal pattern; and communicating, during the positioning session or during another positioning session and on the basis of the received calibration configuration information, a second positioning reference signal according to a second positioning reference signal pattern, wherein the second number of frequency resource elements is smaller than the first number of frequency resource elements and/or wherein the second number of time resource elements is greater than the first number of time resource elements.

Abstract: In accordance with example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform at least sending, by a network device, information comprising a request for positioning reference signals from a network node of a communication network, wherein the request comprises information on an ability of the network device to receive one or more of the positioning reference signals in at least one of a measurement gap based mode or without a measurement gap based mode; and based on the request, receiving from the network node information comprising one or more sets of positioning reference signals. Further, to perform receiving, by a network node, from a network device of a communication network information comprising a request for positioning reference signals; based on the request, determining at least one configuration of positioning reference signal configurations, wherein the at least one configuration comprises one or more sets of positioning reference signals in at least one mode comprising a measurement gap based mode or without a measurement gap based mode for different ones of the positioning reference signals; and sending by the network node towards the network device information comprising the one or more sets of positioning reference signals.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to communication in sidelink positioning. According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a second device generates a second PRS for positioning of a first device by using a set of second devices including the second device and transmits the second PRS to the first device. The first device communicates with the set of second devices via a sidelink interface. The second PRS is at least transmitted over a bandwidth occupied by a second set of sidelink data channels from the set of second devices to the first device in a time slot. In this way, an improved transmission of PRS from a supporting device is achieved, and efficient and low latency sidelink based ranging/positioning is allowed.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to fallback behavior for sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a terminal device determines an activation/deactivation on the configured SRS resource in radio resource control (RRC)_INACTIVE state and behaviours of the terminal device depend on the activation/deactivation. In this way, it improves positioning accuracy for terminal devices in RRC-INACTIVE state. Additionally, it can also improve power consumption efficiency by avoiding unnecessary power consumption of the terminal device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses, and computer readable storage media of sidelink positioning enhancements. An apparatus selects, from a resource pool, a part of a slot in time domain for communication of a sidelink reference signal. The apparatus generates sidelink control information (SCI) comprising an indication of the part of the slot. The apparatus then transmits the SCI to a terminal device. By efficient usage of SCI, the resource allocation at sub-slot level can be enabled for sidelink positioning. In this way, sidelink positioning sensing is improved in term of resource reservation. In addition, the sidelink positioning reference signal interference can be reduced.
