    摘要: A disk type recording medium and a disk recording and reproducing device for use in constant linear velocity and zone constant angular velocity systems wherein the disk type recording medium has spiral or concentric grooves that are divided into a plurality of zones in the radial direction of the disk. Physical address information and sector boundary information are recorded by groove wobbling. Records of data are arranged on grooves with reference to sector boundary information on the condition that a wobble frequency of physical address information obtainable when rotating the disk at a constant angular velocity is constant within a unit zone and increases with each change of zones from inner to outer peripheral zones on the disk.

The device includes an optical head as well as a magnetic coil for recording silencing information or fading information in the TOC area, each of which respectively specifies that a desired range in the sound information recording region should be erased or a fade-in/fade-out operation adjacent to the recording start/end position of desired sound information should be executed in reproducing sound information in the sound information region, a TOC memory wherein the silencing information or the fading information read from the TOC area is stored when the recording medium is placed in the device, and a muting circuit which performs the silencing operation within the range specified by the silencing information stored in the TOC memory or a fading circuit which performs the fade-in/fade-out operation according to the fading information stored in the TOC memory.

Heat of mark rear edges is controlled by cooling start positions for cooling periods classified according to recording mark lengths. The device includes a storage section storing first and second look-up tables, and a recording parameter setting section for obtaining from the tables and setting parameters corresponding to recording information. Also, the first lookup table stores parameters for top sections that control heat of front edges of marks classified into a same group. The reproduced signal quality judging section judges whether or not a reproduced signal obtained by reproduction of the trial recording carried out in accordance with the trial recording parameter satisfies a predetermined reproduced signal quality. If no, the recording parameters of the predetermined recording mark length or longer are further classified into detailed groups and trial recording is carried out again. If the reproduced signal satisfies the predetermined reproduced signal quality, the reproduced signal quality judging section sets the trial recording parameters as a recording parameter. This makes it possible to form a recording mark capable of surely providing a good reproduced signal quality while the number of recording parameters to be used is reduced.
