Guide devices promote positioning the prosthetic valve within a native aortic valve to avoid the conduction tissue and, optionally, to center the prosthetic valve within the native heart valve. Prosthetic valves include one or more cut-outs, openings or recesses configured to align with the conduction tissue so that the conduction tissue is not contacted in a way that would lead to higher incidents of complete heart block.

The cannula assembly includes an elongate tubular member and a coupling assembly disposed at the distal end of elongate tubular member. The elongate tubular member includes a lumen extending from a distal opening at the distal end to a proximal opening at the proximal end. The coupling assembly includes a retaining element and a retention member configured to cooperate with each other and with the portion of the organ wall surrounding the opening in the wall to couple or anchor cannula system to the wall and to provide fluidic communication between the distal opening of the elongate tubular member and the organ chamber.

    摘要: A suction cup adapted to engage a surface of a beating heart with sufficient force to move the beating heart to an unnatural position upon moving the suction cup, while the suction cup maintains engagement with the surface of the heart and the heart continues to heat. Various suction cups are described each including at least a first chamber having a flexible rim and configured to engage the surface of the beating heart and a second chamber smaller than the first chamber and fluidly connected therewith. A suspension device configured to engage a beating heart and maintain engagement via suction while moving the suspension device to move the beating heart to an unnatural position and maintain the beating heart in the unnatural position to perform a surgical procedure, while the heart continues to beat, includes a suction cup and a support arm connected thereto. The suction cup has a first chamber configured to engage the surface of the beating heart, and a second chamber smaller than the first chamber and fluidly connected therewith. The second chamber is adapted to fluidly connect the first chamber with a source of suction. The support arm is movable with the suction cup to effect movement of the beating heart after engagement of the suction cup to a surface of the heating heart.

    摘要: A device for repairing a heart valve comprises an implantation instrument. The implantation instrument comprises a first support ring, and a second support ring connected to said first support ring to form a coiled configuration. The first support ring is configured to abut one side of the valve and the second support ring is configured to abut an opposite side of the valve to thereby trap a portion of the valve tissue therebetween. The device further comprises an annuloplasty implant adapted to be attached to the heart valve annulus in order to reshape the annulus and allow the leaflets to open and close properly. The annuloplasty implant is connected to the implantation instrument for insertion to the annulus.
