摘要: A system includes an anchor, a delivery tool, and a data-processing system. The delivery tool is configured to deliver the anchor to the heart of the subject, and to drive the anchor into tissue of the heart. The data-processing system is adapted to, subsequently to the delivery tool delivering the anchor to the heart, receive, via the delivery tool, a first electrical signal from the anchor, at the tissue, the anchor serving as an electrode. The data-processing system is adapted to receive, via the delivery tool, a second electrical signal from a distal part of the delivery tool within the heart. The data-processing system is adapted to, responsively to both the first signal and the second signal, determine a location of the anchor within the heart, and provide an output indicative of the location. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

摘要: A first ventricular surface anchor can be placed against a first right ventricular surface, wherein the first ventricular surface anchor is connected to a first tension member. A first tension anchor against a tension anchor surface of a heart, wherein the first tension anchor is connected to a second tension member. The first tension member connected to the first ventricular surface anchor can extend towards the second tension member connected to the first tension anchor; and the first tension member and the second tension member, can be draw the first right ventricular surface toward the first tension anchor. The surface anchor can include a nitinol frame forming an outer perimeter and a hole. The nitinol frame can have an austenite state in a deployed configuration when a temperature of the nitinol frame is body temperature. The surface anchor can also include a grommet comprising a distal tubular portion connected to a proximal finger portion.

摘要: Excessive dilation of the annulus of a mitral valve may lead to regurgitation of blood during ventricular contraction. This regurgitation may lead to a reduction in cardiac output. Disclosed are systems and methods relating to an implant configured for reshaping a mitral valve. The implant comprises a plurality of struts with anchors for tissue engagement. The implant is compressible to a first, reduced diameter for transluminal navigation and delivery to the left atrium of a heart. The implant may then expand to a second, enlarged diameter to embed its anchors to the tissue surrounding and/or including the mitral valve. The implant may then contract to a third, intermediate diameter, pulling the tissue radially inwardly, thereby reducing the mitral valve and lessening any of the associated symptoms including mitral regurgitation.

摘要: An articulating implant holder system for heart valve repair or replacement has an implant configured to be secured to a heart valve annulus, an implant holder secured to the implant, an articulating handle assembly comprising a handle, a swivel pivotably secured to the handle at a first location and a connector pivotably secured to the swivel at a second location, an actuating cable secured between the handle and the connector to cause the swivel to move from a first position to a second position, and a latch removably secured to the implant holder. A plurality of sizer heads are configured to correspond to different sizes of heart valve annuluses and each of the plurality of sizer heads has a latching feature. A latching feature of the swivel is configured to removably snap on to the latching feature of each of the plurality of sizer heads and is configured to permanently snap on to the latch.

The device may include a replacement valve. The valve may have leaflets configured to re-direct blood flow along a primary flow axis.

摘要: A prosthetic tricuspid remodeling annuloplasty ring having two free ends that are upturned in the inflow direction to help avoid unnecessary leaflet abrasion. The free ends are desirably separated across a gap that is large enough to reduce the risk of passing sutures through the conductive system of the heart, yet not too large that support of the septal leaflet of the tricuspid annulus is degraded. The ring may define an inflow bulge in the first segment and/or an inflow bulge in the fourth segment that help the ring conform to the natural bulges created by the adjacent aorta, thereby reducing stress and the potential for ring dehiscence.

摘要: A prosthetic aortic valve includes an annular, annulus inflow portion that is designed to reside in or near the patient's native aortic valve annulus, and an annular, aortic outflow portion that is designed to reside in the patient's aorta downstream from at least a portion of the valsalva sinus. The annulus inflow portion and the aortic outflow portion are connected to one another by a plurality of connecting struts that are confined to regions near the commissures of the patient's native aortic valve. The connecting struts are designed to bulge out into the valsalva sinus to help anchor the prosthetic valve in place. The valve is circumferentially collapsible to a relatively small diameter for less-invasive delivery into the patient. The valve circumferentially expands to a larger operational diameter when deployed at the implant site.

摘要: A tissue anchor includes a tissue-engaging element, a head, and a protrusion. The tissue-engaging element has a sharpened distal tip, and is configured to be driven into tissue of a subject. The head is coupled to a proximal end of the tissue-engaging element, and includes a driver interface that is configured to be reversibly engaged by an anchor driver. The protrusion protrudes away from the head such that driving the tissue-engaging element into the tissue presses the protrusion against the tissue, and is configured to move with respect to the head automatically in response to being pressed against the tissue. 摘要: A heart valve annulus repair device having a tissue engaging member and a plurality of anchors. The tissue engaging member includes a loop of wire. Each of the anchors has a pointy front end and a back end and a slot that runs in a front-to-back direction. The anchors are distributed about the loop of wire with the front ends of the plurality of anchors facing the heart valve annulus and with the loop of wire passing through the slots. The device further includes means for implanting the anchors into the heart valve annulus tissue so that the tissue engaging member becomes affixed to the heart valve annulus.
