Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed to establish and verify a Tunneled Direct Link Setup (TDLS) link between a first wireless device and a second wireless device. In some embodiments, the first wireless device may receive a TDLS setup confirmation message from the second wireless device. Based on the TDLS setup confirmation message, the first wireless device may transmit a TDLS verification message to the second wireless. The TDLS link may be verified when the second wireless device receives the TDLS verification message. In some embodiments, when the TDLS verification message is not received by the second wireless device, a TDLS check message may be sent by the second wireless device to the first wireless device. The first wireless device may transmit a TDLS check complete message based on the TDLS check message. The TDLS link may be verified when the second device receives the TDLS check complete message.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for compression of wireless communications headers are disclosed. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless communication includes a processing system configured to output a request for transmission to a second apparatus, the request indicating a request to the second apparatus to store first information; decode a response from the second apparatus to determine whether the second apparatus will store the first information; generate a first header, the first header generated without the first information therein if the second apparatus will store the first information; and output the first header for transmission to the second apparatus.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating a compressed beacon are described herein. In some aspects, a method of receiving a long-range communication in a wireless network is provided. The method includes transmitting, at a first device, a first communication reserving a wireless medium for at least a first time period. The first communication has a first range. The method further includes receiving, at the first device, a second communication during the first time period. The second communication is unidirectional and has a second range longer than the first range.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for dynamically adapting channel access or transmission parameters based upon an identified channel access parameter or previously used transmission parameter are disclosed. In an aspect, an electronic device for communication over a wireless network is disclosed. The electronic device comprises a processor configured to generate a message that identifies one rule of a plurality of rules. Each of the plurality of rules defines a process for adapting a value of a communication parameter based on an identified channel access parameter. Also, each of the plurality of rules provides a particular quality of service and a particular priority for communication with the electronic device. The electronic device further comprises a transceiver configured to transmit the message to a station.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for compressing packet headers and payloads are described herein. In one embodiment, a packet including a packet header and a packet payload is compressed in accordance with a compression map, and the compressed packet is transmitted. The compression map includes a run-length encoded data set identifying at least one data field of the packet header and the packet payload to compress. In another embodiment, a packet including a packet header and a packet payload is received and decompressed in accordance with a decompression map. The decompression map includes a run-length encoded data set identifying at least one data field of the packet header and the packet payload to decompress.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating data in a wireless communications network are described herein. One innovative aspect of the present disclosure includes a method of communicating in a wireless network. The wireless network includes an access point and a relay. The method includes indicating to a client, at the relay, a network address of the access point. The method further includes receiving an association request, from the client, addressed to the access point. The method further includes forwarding the association request to the access point.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for compressing block acknowledgment (ACK) frames/packets are described herein. In some aspects, a method of communicating in a wireless network includes generating a compressed block acknowledgment frame comprising a physical layer header, the physical layer header including at least one of the following: a block acknowledgment identifier, a starting sequence number of the compressed block acknowledgement frame, and a bitmap. The method further includes transmitting the compressed block acknowledgment frame.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer program products for communicating aggregated packets including delimiters are described herein. In one aspect, a processor is configured to prepare a packet comprising an aggregated media access control service data unit (A-MSDU) having a plurality of MSDU subframes. Each MSDU subframe includes a MSDU subframe header and a MSDU. Further, the processor is configured to insert an indication of an end of the A-MSDU in the A-MSDU. A transmitter is configured to transmit the packet wirelessly. In another aspect, a receiver is configured to receive wirelessly a packet comprising an A-MSDU having a plurality of MSDU subframes and an indication of an end of the A-MSDU in the A-MSDU. A processor is configured to determine the end of the A-MSDU based on the indication.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for reducing collisions in a wireless communications network are described herein. In some aspects, a processor is configured to decrementing a value of a counter if a channel of a wireless communications network is idle for at least an extended slot time. The processor may be further configured to generate a polling request and allow the transmission of the polling request to an access point over the wireless communications network when the value of the counter reaches a threshold value.
