Abstract: The vehicle wheel includes an outer rim hoop with means for holding a tire, a plurality of spoke portions, and a central hub assembly. The central hub assembly includes an axle assembly and a hub shell that is rotatable about the axle. The hub shell includes at least two axially spaced outer flanges for attachment with the spokes. The spokes are connected at their outer ends to the rim hoop and at their inner ends to their respective outer flange. Firm attachment between the spoke and the outer flange is achieved by engaging of a portion of the spoke with a cavity formed within at least one of the rim and the outer flange. Also disclosed are attachment arrangements that include an intermediate connection member to facilitate attachment between the spoke and the cavity.

Abstract: The wheel includes an annular rim, a central hub and a plurality of spoke portions running between the rim and hub, with each spoke having a width to thickness ratio of at least 2:1, with the spoke portions having an inside portion in fixed relationship to the hub and an outside portion in fixed relationship to the rim with the spoke portions extending radially outwardly between the hub and rim. A circular member is provided affixed to at least one of the inside and outside spoke portions defining an enclosed, continuous hollow annulus and including fasteners within the hollow annulus for affixing said spoke portions to said circular member.

Abstract: A water bottle cage for bicycles is molded from a resilient substantially rigid polymeric material and includes an elongated base portion, a bottom flange portion projecting from the base portion adjacent one end thereof and engageable by a portion of the bottom of the water bottle, and a cage portion. The cage portion has a pair of oppositely disposed arcuate segments, each joined at one end to the other end of the base portion and extending laterally thereof for engagement with the side wall of the water bottle generally circumferentially thereof and having its other end disposed generally opposite across the water bottle from the base portion, a pair of lengthwise segments, each joined at one end to the other end of a respective arcuate segment and engageable with the side wall of the water bottle, and an end segment joining the other ends of the lengthwise segments and engageable with a portion of the bottom of the water bottle. A retainer portion extends from said other end of the base portion and is engageable with the shoulder of the water bottle. The respective arcuate segments and lengthwise segments are resiliently deformable relative to each other and to the base portion so as to engage resiliently the side walls of the water bottle.

The spoke extends through the spoke hole and is engaged to the spoke bed wall by an overlie engagement at a bearing interface between a bearing surface of the spoke and the radially outboard surface to limit longitudinally inward displacement between the spoke and spoke bed wall. At least a portion of the bearing interface is laterally outwardly spaced from the first perimeter edge by a lateral distance of at least 0.7 millimeters.

The axle is a cantilevered axle with a first end removably connected to the dropout. The first end includes an axially outwardly facing first end face. The dropout includes an axially inward facing inboard face and an open slot to receive the axle adjacent the first end, with the open slot including an open entrance portion, a closed terminus region, slot sidewalls extending between the entrance portion and the terminus region. The axle is generally radially inwardly assembled to the open slot through the open entrance.

Abstract: A seatpost assembly, including a first seatpost portion, a second seatpost portion axially displaceable relative to the first seatpost portion along an axial axis, and an engagement element with a circumferential coil portion having a first termination and a second termination.
