摘要： After a gray scale image extracting unit converts an input document image to a gray scale image, a multi-code image binary-coding unit converts the image to a binary image having a value in which each pixel indicates either a background area or a plotting area in the image, and outputs the binary image to a binary image recognizing unit. In the multi-code binary-coding unit, a partial area extracting unit extracts one or more partial areas in the gray scale image. A partial image binary-coding unit executes a binary-coding process for each of the partial areas in the gray scale image. A binary image combining unit combines one or more partial binary images and constitutes a binary image of the entire gray scale image.

摘要： A computer graphics apparatus includes a walk-through function to simulate with a computer the concept of walking through a structure such as a building. Display processing time and calculation processing time for one frame of a computer graphic image are improved by an input unit which receives a viewline moving instruction to move a viewline of a computer image. A viewline control unit determines positions and directions of the viewline while a storage unit stores computer graphics data including three-dimensional data of objects, walk-through attribute data and viewline data. An image generation unit then generates images including animated images based on the position of the viewline and the computer graphics data. The resultant images are then displayed on an image display unit.

摘要： A document image tilt detection unit extracts a set of elements forming a character from a document image, extracts candidates for horizontal and vertical lines based on the character elements, estimates the reliability of each candidate for a line, and extracts a set of probable lines. Then, it estimates the tilt of the document image based on the arrangement of the character elements belonging to the line elements in the set of probable lines. A layout analysis unit extracts a set of lines in a fixed line direction from a set of basic elements forming the document image, and reciprocally performs the extraction of a column based on the correlation between lines and the extraction of a line based on the restrictions of the column. By providing the document image tilt detection unit and the layout analysis unit, the tilt of the document image containing both vertical and horizontal character lines can be detected, and lines and columns can be extracted at a high speed with high precision.

The type code of each region and the individual code of a recognition result are then displayed, so that a user can modify both of the results of the region identification and the recognition process at one time. Furthermore, the processing device displays an original image close to the recognition result. If no correct answer exists among recognition candidates, code is added to the original image, and the original image with the code added is handled as a recognition result.

摘要： A three-dimensional graphic apparatus generates a three-dimensional image using computer graphics, in which the positional relationship between matters, such as furniture in a three-dimensional image, can be changed readily and accurately. A moving object indication unit indicates one of the matters in the three-dimensional image as an object matter. A search direction indication unit indicates a search direction of a base polygon constituting a base matter coming into contact with the object matter, from a notice point of a line of sight. A base polygon search unit selects, from among polygons located on a straight line extending from the notice point in the search direction, a polygon closest to the notice point as the base polygon. An object polygon selection unit selects an object polygon, which is a polygon to be brought into contact, from among polygons constituting the object matter. A neighboring unit rotates the object matter so that the object polygon will be parallel to the base polygon and moves the object matter so that the object polygon will be parallel to the base polygon and moves the object matter so that the object polygon and the base polygon lie on the same plane.

摘要： Cleaning apparatus for an electronic game console and associated game cartridges, wherein the game console is of the type having a first edge connector adapted to engage a mating second edge connector provided in the game cartridge. The cleaning apparatus includes a cleaning cartridge having a housing portion at one end and a handle portion at the other end, the housing portion having first and second separable portions, and having a recessed forward end. A first cleaning element is mounted within the recessed forward end, the cleaning element being sized and shaped to correspond substantially to the first edge connector, so that the cleaning pad engages the second edge connector upon insertion into the game console port. A second cleaning element is carried within the housing portion of the cartridge, the second cleaning element including an elongated member having a washing pad on one end thereof and a drying pad on the other end thereof, for cleaning the edge connector of the game cartridge.

By entering necessary information in the field of facsimile numbers and the field of data designating information of the OMR sheet, converting the same into an image signal and then applying the converted image signal to the determining device, preparation of the designated information and process of transmitting the prepared information by means of the facsimile device are automatically performed as a series of processes by the electronic filing apparatus.

摘要： In an information registering and retrieving apparatus, primary information of image signals converted from an original document or documents is registered by adding secondary information to the primary information and any desired primary information is retrieved by utilizing the secondary information. The apparatus is provided with a first output reservation device for storing, in a storage device, desired secondary information designated in the entire secondary information retrieved on the basis of any given retrieval condition and for interrupting an output of the desired primary information corresponding to the designated secondary information on a display and by a printer. It is further provided with a second output reservation device for storing, in the storage device, desired primary information designated in the entire primary information corresponding to the retrieved secondary information and for interrupting an output of the desired primary information by the printer. In this apparatus, upon completion of retrieval processing, the primary information which has not been outputted yet is outputted on the basis of the information stored in the storage device.
